5. Setup

5.1 Mounting the Device

The BEPOCAM unit comes with a mounting bracket designed for motorcycle handlebars. Securely attach the bracket to your handlebar, ensuring it does not obstruct your view or control of the motorcycle. Once the bracket is in place, attach the main unit to the bracket, making sure it clicks firmly into position. The bracket is designed to be detachable for anti-theft purposes.

5.2 Power Connection

Connect the provided power cable to your motorcycle's 12V power supply. Ensure a stable connection that can provide at least 3A for proper device startup and operation. It is recommended to use the original power cable. Using a USB Type-C port for power directly from the motorcycle may lead to insufficient voltage and device restarts if the output is less than 5V, 3A.

5.3 DVR Camera Installation (for DVR models)

For models equipped with DVR cameras, install the front and rear 1080P cameras in suitable locations on your motorcycle to capture clear views. Ensure the cameras are securely mounted and their cables are routed safely, away from moving parts or heat sources. The cameras offer a 150° wide-angle view.

5.4 TPMS Sensor Installation (for TPMS models)

For models with TPMS, install the tire pressure sensors on your motorcycle's tire valves. Follow these steps:

  1. Screw out the valve cap.
  2. Rotate the nut in a counter-clockwise direction.
  3. Check for air leakage with soapy water after installation.

The system supports monitoring 2 or 4 tires, providing real-time tire pressure and voltage data.

  • Loop Recording: The device automatically records video in a continuous loop, overwriting the oldest files when the memory card is full.
  • Parking Monitor: When enabled, the device can monitor your motorcycle while parked, recording events if motion or impact is detected.
  • G-Sensor: Detects sudden movements or impacts and automatically locks the current video file to prevent it from being overwritten.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the screen and device body. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surface.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the device in a cool, dry place. Consider detaching it from the motorcycle for security.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
  • Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect all cables for signs of wear or damage. Replace any damaged cables immediately to prevent electrical issues.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Device Restarts / Insufficient Power

Problem: The device restarts frequently or fails to power on.

Solution: Ensure the power supply from your motorcycle is a stable 12V and provides at least 3A. Always use the original power cable. If using a USB Type-C connection, verify that the motorcycle's USB port outputs sufficient voltage and current (5V, 3A minimum). Insufficient power is a common cause for restarts.

8.2 CarPlay / Android Auto Connection Issues

Problem: Unable to connect to Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto.

Solution:

  • Verify your phone meets the minimum OS requirements (iOS 9+ for CarPlay, Android 11+ for Android Auto).
  • Ensure your phone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled.
  • For Android Auto, confirm your phone supports 5GHz Wi-Fi and the Android Auto app is updated.
  • Check the list of incompatible Android phone models (e.g., some Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi models).
  • Try forgetting the Bluetooth connection on both the phone and the BEPOCAM unit, then re-pair.

8.3 No Audio from Helmet/Headset

Problem: Audio is not playing through the Bluetooth helmet or headset.

Solution:

  • Ensure your phone is first connected to the BEPOCAM unit via Bluetooth, and CarPlay/Android Auto is active.
  • Then, ensure your phone is successfully paired and connected to your Bluetooth helmet/headset.
  • Check the volume levels on both the BEPOCAM unit, your phone, and your helmet/headset.

8.4 Screen Not Responding to Touch with Gloves

Problem: The capacitive touch screen does not respond when wearing gloves.

Solution: The screen does not support glove touch. You will need to remove your gloves to operate the touch screen or use the wired remote control for basic functions.

8.5 Cannot Install Apps (APK)

Problem: Unable to download and install APK files or other apps.

Solution: The BEPOCAM unit runs on a Linux OS and does not support the installation of Android applications (APKs). Its Wi-Fi functionality is primarily for connecting to CarPlay or Android Auto and transferring data with your phone for these specific functions.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, always ensure your smartphone's operating system and the Android Auto app (if applicable) are up to date.
  • When connecting your phone and helmet, follow the sequence: Phone -> BEPOCAM -> Helmet. This ensures proper audio routing.
  • Consider purchasing a high-quality TF (microSD) card for DVR models to ensure reliable loop recording and storage of important footage.
  • Utilize the wired remote control for quick and safe access to essential functions like answering calls or switching menus without diverting attention from the road.
