4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Power Supply
The thermostat can be powered by batteries or, for most models (excluding BOT-R9V-WIFI), via USB-C.
- Battery Power: Requires 3x AAA batteries (not included). To conserve battery life, the screen will dim and turn off after 5 seconds of inactivity.
- USB-C Power: For models with a USB-C port, connect a USB-C cable for continuous power. This allows the screen to remain always on. You can set vibration wake times in the app for USB-C powered units.

4.2 Wiring Diagram
The thermostat connects to your gas boiler using dry contacts. Follow these steps for wiring:
- Carefully pry open the back shell of the thermostat using a screwdriver.
- Connect the boiler's control wires to the COM and NO terminals on the thermostat's circuit board.
- Ensure the boiler connection is within the specified range: 24-230VAC, 50-60Hz, 5A.
- Once wired, securely close the back shell.

4.3 App Connection (Tuya/Smart Life)
- Download the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app from your smartphone's app store.
- Register or log in to your account.
- Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device.
- Put the thermostat into pairing mode (refer to the thermostat's display or specific instructions for pairing mode activation).
- Connect the thermostat to your home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

5.1 Manual Control
The thermostat features physical buttons for basic control:
