Setup
1. Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the HTC NE40 earbuds and charging case. Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the charging case and a power source. The charging case display will indicate charging status.

2. App Installation (for AI Translation & Advanced Features)
To utilize the AI translation function and other advanced features, you must download and install the dedicated mobile application on your smartphone.
- Scan the QR code provided in the manual or on the product packaging, or search for the official HTC NE40 app in your device's app store.
- Download and install the application.
- Open the app and log in or create an account.

3. Bluetooth Pairing
- Ensure the earbuds are charged.
- Open the charging case and take out both earbuds. They will automatically enter pairing mode.
- On your smartphone or Bluetooth-enabled device, go to Bluetooth settings and search for available devices.
- Select "HTC NE40" from the list to connect.
- For AI translation features, open the dedicated app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the headphones within the app.
Operating Instructions
1. Touch Controls (Earbuds)
The HTC NE40 earbuds feature intuitive touch sensors for easy control of music and calls.
- Double-tap (Left/Right Earbud): Play/Pause music, Answer an incoming call.
- Double-tap (Left/Right Earbud during call): Hang up the phone.
- Triple-tap (Left/Right Earbud): Switch to the next song.

2. Volume Adjustment (Charging Case Rotary Knob)
Adjust the volume directly from the charging case using the side-mounted rotary knob. Simply turn the knob to increase or decrease the volume.

3. AI Translation Function
The HTC NE40 earbuds offer real-time, two-way AI translation for over 134 languages, ideal for global negotiations or travel. This feature requires the dedicated mobile app.
- Ensure both earbuds are connected to your phone via Bluetooth and the app.
- Open the translation feature within the app.
- For face-to-face conversations, wear one earbud and give the other to the person you are conversing with.
- Speak into your earbud, and the app will translate and play the audio in the other person's earbud, and vice-versa. The translation will also be displayed on your phone screen.

4. Noise Reduction & Transparency Mode
While the HTC NE40 does not feature Active Noise Cancellation, it offers Noise Reduction and Transparency modes. These modes can be switched with one click (via the app or touch controls, if configured) to either suppress ambient sound for a quieter listening experience or allow environmental sounds to pass through for awareness.

5. Media Playback and Navigation (Charging Case)
The charging case's high-definition full-color touch screen allows for direct interaction with media. You can play/pause, skip tracks, and even browse content without needing to access your phone.

When watching videos, you can use the rotary knob on the charging case to scroll through content or switch between videos smoothly.

6. Customizing Charging Case Wallpaper
Personalize your charging case by uploading custom high-definition wallpapers through the dedicated mobile app. This allows you to display photos of family, pets, or any image of your choice on the case's screen.

Charging
The HTC NE40 charging case provides extended battery life for your earbuds. To charge the case, use a Type-C cable connected to a compatible power adapter (not included).
- A full charge of the earbuds provides up to 9 hours of playback.
- With the fully charged case, total playback time extends up to 48 hours.
- A quick 10-minute charge of the earbuds in the case can provide approximately 3 hours of music playback.
- The charging case itself takes approximately 1.5 hours to fully charge.
The display on the charging case will show the current battery levels of both the earbuds and the case.
