4. Setup

4.1 Initial Power On

  1. Charge the Tablet: Before first use, fully charge your Blackview LINK 8 using the provided 18W fast charger and USB cable. Connect the USB cable to the tablet's charging port and the power adapter to a wall outlet. The charging indicator will show the charging status.
  2. Power On: Press and hold the Power button (usually located on the side or top edge) for a few seconds until the Blackview logo appears on the screen.
  3. Initial Setup Wizard: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup. This typically includes:
    • Selecting your language.
    • Connecting to a Wi-Fi network.
    • Setting up your Google account (essential for accessing Google Play Store and services).
    • Setting up screen lock (PIN, pattern, password, or Face Unlock).

4.2 Inserting a TF Card (MicroSD)

The Blackview LINK 8 supports TF cards (MicroSD) up to 2TB for expanded storage.

  1. Locate the SIM/TF card tray on the side of the tablet.
  2. Use the provided SIM ejector tool to gently push into the small hole next to the tray to open it.
  3. Place the TF card into the designated slot on the tray, ensuring correct orientation.
  4. Carefully reinsert the tray into the tablet.

4.3 Connecting Accessories

  • Keyboard/Mouse: If your package includes a keyboard or mouse, they typically connect via Bluetooth. Go to Settings > Connected devices > Bluetooth and pair the devices.
  • Stylus Pen: The stylus pen can be used for writing, drawing, and navigation. No special pairing is usually required for basic functionality.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Navigation and DokeOS_P 4.2

The tablet runs on DokeOS_P 4.2, based on Android 15, offering an intuitive user experience.

  • Home Screen: Swipe left/right to navigate between home screens.
  • App Drawer: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access all installed applications.
  • Quick Settings/Notifications: Swipe down from the top of the screen to access quick settings and notifications.
  • Multitasking: Tap the square navigation button (or swipe up and hold from the bottom if using gesture navigation) to view recent apps.

5.2 Display Features

5.3 Camera Usage

The tablet features a 16MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera.

  • Taking Photos: Open the Camera app, select Photo mode, and tap the shutter button.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Care

  • Avoid exposing the tablet to extreme temperatures (hot or cold), as this can degrade battery life.
  • Do not let the battery completely drain frequently. Charge it before it reaches 0%.
  • Use only the original or certified compatible charger and cable.
  • If the tablet will not be used for an extended period, charge it to about 50-60% before storing.

6.2 Cleaning the Tablet

  • Screen: Use a soft, lint-free cloth (microfiber is ideal) to gently wipe the screen. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen cleaner specifically designed for electronics. Avoid harsh chemicals.
