1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the LS M8 GPS Drone. This manual provides essential information for the safe operation, setup, and maintenance of your new drone. The M8 drone features a foldable design, dual HD cameras (4K/8K options), a brushless motor for stable flight, and 5G WiFi FPV capabilities. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the drone to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

2. Safety Guidelines

⚠️ For recreation use only. Illegal modification of drones/planes is prohibited. Please also pay attention to the relevant laws and regulations on the use of drones/planes in your country/area to ensure legal use.

  • Always operate the drone in open areas, away from people, animals, and obstacles.
  • Do not fly near airports, restricted airspace, or sensitive facilities.
  • Ensure the battery is fully charged before each flight.
  • Perform pre-flight checks, including propeller integrity and secure battery installation.
  • Avoid flying in strong winds or adverse weather conditions.
  • Maintain a safe distance from the drone during takeoff and landing.
  • Children should only operate the drone under adult supervision.

Remote Control Button Functions:

  • Return: Initiates return-to-home function.
  • Image Library: Access stored photos and videos.
  • Screen Switch: Toggles display modes.
  • Speed Switching: Adjusts flight speed (e.g., low, medium, high).
  • One-Click Takeoff/Landing: Simplifies flight initiation and termination.
  • Camera Tilts Up/Down: Adjusts camera angle.
  • Throttle: Controls altitude.
  • Power Switch: Turns the remote control on/off.
  • Photo/Next Page: Captures photos or navigates menu.
  • Video/Previous Page: Starts/stops video recording or navigates menu.
  • Confirm: Selects options.
  • Rolling/Lighting: Activates 360-degree roll or controls lights.
  • Fine-tuning: Adjusts drone trim for stable flight.
  • Direction Lever: Controls horizontal movement (forward, backward, left, right).

5. Setup

5.1. Battery Charging

  1. Connect the drone battery to the USB charging cable.
  2. Plug the USB cable into a suitable USB power adapter (not included).
  3. The charging time is approximately 90 minutes. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.

5.2. Drone Preparation

  1. Unfold the Drone: Gently unfold the drone arms until they lock into position.
  2. Install Protective Covers: Attach the protective covers to the propellers if desired for added safety.
  3. Install Battery: Insert the charged 3.7V 2500mAh modular lithium battery into the drone's battery compartment until it clicks securely.
  4. Power On Drone: Press and hold the power button on the drone until the indicator lights turn on.

5.3. Remote Control Setup

  1. Power On Remote: Press and hold the power switch on the remote control until the screen lights up.
  2. Pairing: The drone and remote control should automatically pair. If not, follow the pairing instructions in the separate 'Drone Manual' provided.

5.4. App Connection (Optional)

For advanced features and mobile control, download the M8 app (refer to the separate 'Drone Manual' for app name and QR code).

  1. Turn on the drone and remote control.
  2. Enable Wi-Fi on your smartphone and connect to the drone's Wi-Fi network (usually named 'M8-XXXXXX').
  3. Open the M8 app. You should see the live FPV feed from the drone's camera.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Basic Flight Controls

  • Takeoff: Press the One-Click Takeoff/Landing button or gently push the throttle stick upwards.
  • Landing: Press the One-Click Takeoff/Landing button again or gently pull the throttle stick downwards.
  • Altitude: Use the left throttle stick (up/down) to control the drone's altitude.
  • Direction: Use the right direction lever (forward/backward/left/right) to control the drone's horizontal movement.
  • Rotation: Use the left throttle stick (left/right) to rotate the drone.
  • Speed: Use the Speed Switching button to cycle through different flight speeds.

6.2. Special Flight Modes & Features

  • Headless Mode: In this mode, the drone's orientation is irrelevant; it will move relative to the pilot's position. Activate using the dedicated button on the remote.

6.3. Camera Operation

  • Adjust Camera Angle: Use the camera tilt buttons on the remote control to adjust the 180° ESC camera angle.
  • Take Photos/Record Videos: Use the Photo/Next Page and Video/Previous Page buttons on the remote control to capture media.
  • FPV (First Person View): View the live camera feed on the remote control's integrated screen or via the M8 app on your smartphone.
  • Vertical Shooting: The drone supports vertical shooting, making it convenient for sharing on mobile platforms.
  • Gesture Photography: Aim at the camera and make corresponding gestures to trigger photo capture.

  • Trajectory Flight (via App): Draw a desired flight path on the mobile app screen, and the drone will autonomously follow the designated path.

7. Maintenance

7.1. General Care

  • Keep the drone and remote control clean and dry. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe surfaces.
  • Avoid exposing the drone to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Store the drone and accessories in the provided storage bag when not in use.

7.2. Propeller Replacement

If a propeller is damaged, replace it with a spare blade from the accessory kit.

  1. Power off the drone.
  2. Carefully remove the damaged propeller. Note the direction of rotation (indicated by markings on the propeller or motor housing).
  3. Install a new propeller, ensuring it matches the correct rotation direction. Press firmly until it is securely seated.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Drone does not respond to remote control. Low battery on drone or remote; not paired; interference. Charge batteries; re-pair drone and remote; move to an area with less interference.
Drone flies unstably or drifts. Uncalibrated gyroscope; damaged propeller; strong wind. Calibrate gyroscope (refer to manual); replace damaged propellers; avoid flying in strong winds.
Camera feed is blurry or distorted. Lens is dirty; poor Wi-Fi connection; camera damage. Clean the camera lens; ensure strong Wi-Fi signal; inspect camera for physical damage.
Short flight time. Battery not fully charged; old battery; flying aggressively. Ensure full charge; consider replacing old batteries; fly more conservatively.
