5. Setup Guide

5.1 Initial Power-Up

  1. Connect the power adapter to the alarm host's Type-C port.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
  3. Ensure the power switch (wave switch) on the host is in the 'ON' position.

5.2 App Installation & WiFi Configuration

The alarm host supports 2.4G WiFi networks only. Ensure your WiFi is configured to 2.4G before proceeding.

  1. Download the Tuya Smart or Smart Life APP from your smartphone's app store.
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. On the alarm host, navigate to the main menu and select 'WiFi configuration'.
  4. Choose 'One-click configuration'. The host will enter pairing mode.
  5. In the Tuya Smart/Smart Life APP, tap 'Add Device' (usually a '+' icon in the upper right corner).
  6. Select 'Security & Video Surveillance' > 'Alarm (Wi-Fi)'.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to connect the alarm host to your 2.4G WiFi network.
  8. Wait for the connection to be successful.

5.3 Sensor Pairing (Wireless Accessories)

The system is compatible with 1527 and 2262 accessory learning (receiving).

  1. On the alarm host, navigate to 'Accessories' in the main menu.
  2. Select 'Add Sensor' or 'Add Remote'.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to trigger the sensor or remote control. The host will detect and pair the device.
  4. Assign a name and zone to the newly added sensor for easy identification.

5.4 Wired Defense Zones

The PG108 supports 3 wired defense zones. Connect your wired sensors to the designated ports on the alarm host as per the wiring diagram (refer to the product's detailed wiring instructions if available, not provided in this manual).

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Arming and Disarming

  • Via APP: Use the Tuya Smart/Smart Life APP to arm or disarm the system remotely.
  • Via Remote Control: Press the arm/disarm buttons on the provided remote controls.
  • Via Keypad: Enter your password on the alarm host keypad and select arm/disarm.

6.2 SOS One-Click Help

In an emergency, press the large 'SOS' button on the alarm host or the SOS button on the remote control. The system will immediately trigger an alarm and notify pre-set emergency contacts.

6.3 Two-Way Voice Intercom

The alarm host supports two-way voice communication, allowing you to speak through the panel and receive audio from its microphone. This can be initiated via the mobile app.

6.4 Scheduled Arm/Disarm

Set up custom schedules for arming and disarming your system through the alarm host's menu or the mobile app. This allows for automated security based on your daily routine.

6.5 Language Settings

The alarm host supports multiple languages. You can change the language setting directly from the host's menu. The change will take effect immediately without requiring a restart.

6.6 Alarm Mute Setting

The system supports an alarm mute setting, which can be configured through the host's menu. This allows for silent alarms or reduced siren volume as needed.

6.8 Doorbell Function

The system includes a doorbell function. When activated, it will produce a 'Ding Dong' sound.

6.9 Smoke Detection Alarm

When a smoke detector (sold separately) is linked to the system and detects smoke, it sends a signal to the host. The host then triggers an alarm, pushes notifications to the app, and calls the user's pre-set phone numbers.

6.10 Anti-Demolition Alarm Function

The alarm host is equipped with an anti-demolition feature. If a detachable device at the back of the host is removed, the host will beep on the spot and send a call or text message notification to the owner.

6.11 Low Power Reminder Function

The system monitors the battery levels of the main board and connected accessories, providing reminders when power is low to ensure continuous operation.

7.1 Smart Home Product Linkage

7.2 HD Camera Linkage

After receiving an alarm notification, you can check the situation in real-time through the mobile phone APP if an HD camera is linked to the system.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the alarm host and sensors. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery: The alarm host has a built-in 3.7V/500mAh Lithium backup battery. Ensure it is charged regularly. Replace batteries in wireless sensors when the low power reminder is activated.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Tuya Smart/Smart Life APP for any available firmware updates for the alarm host to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Placement: Ensure the alarm host is placed in a central location for optimal wireless signal reception from sensors. Avoid placing it near large metal objects or other electronic devices that may cause interference.

9. Troubleshooting

  • System not connecting to WiFi: Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4G. The alarm host does not support 5G WiFi. Check WiFi signal strength and router settings.
  • Sensors not triggering alarm: Verify that sensors are correctly paired with the host and are within range. Check sensor battery levels. Ensure the system is armed.
  • No APP notifications: Check your phone's notification settings for the Tuya Smart/Smart Life APP. Ensure the app has necessary permissions and your phone has an active internet connection.
  • Siren not sounding: Check the siren's connection to the host. Ensure the alarm mute setting is not enabled.
  • Remote controls not working: Verify remote control batteries. Re-pair the remote controls if necessary.

10. User Tips

  • When setting up, ensure your phone is connected to the same 2.4G WiFi network as the alarm host for a smoother pairing process.
  • Consider placing motion sensors in high-traffic areas and door/window sensors on all entry points for maximum coverage.
  • Utilize the scheduled arm/disarm feature to automate your security routine, making it more convenient and less prone to human error.
  • Regularly test your sensors and alarm system to ensure all components are functioning correctly.
  • If you plan to use a powered siren, confirm its compatibility with the 433MHz frequency of the alarm panel.
