5.3 Wiring Instructions (for ZBMINL2)
The E1GSL enclosure is designed to work with the SONOFF ZBMINL2, which typically does not require a neutral wire for the switch itself, simplifying installation. Refer to the diagram below for typical wiring connections.

Note: Before wiring, loosen all the screws on the SONOFF In-wall Retrofit Module's wiring terminals. After completing the wiring, tighten the screws securely.
6. Operating Instructions
The SONOFF E1GSL Wall Switch Enclosure provides a physical button interface for the connected SONOFF ZBMINL2 module. Once the ZBMINL2 module is correctly installed and powered, pressing the button on the E1GSL enclosure will trigger the smart switch functionality of the ZBMINL2, allowing you to control the connected load (e.g., lights).
- Single Press: Typically toggles the connected device ON/OFF.
- Long Press/Multiple Presses: Refer to the SONOFF ZBMINL2 user manual for any advanced functions or pairing modes activated by specific button presses.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surface of the enclosure. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the PC material.
- Inspection: Periodically check for any loose connections or signs of wear. If any damage is observed, discontinue use and consult a qualified technician.
- Environmental Conditions: Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature range (-10°C ~ 40°C) and avoid excessive humidity.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your E1GSL enclosure, consider the following:
- Enclosure Does Not Fit: Verify that your wall junction box is either an 86-Type or a European Round (Ø 60mm) type. The ultra-slim design is intended to fit most shallow boxes, but extreme cases may exist.
- Button Not Responding: This enclosure is a passive interface. Ensure the SONOFF ZBMINL2 module is correctly installed, powered, and functioning. Check the ZBMINL2's own status and wiring.
- Loose Connections: Re-check all wiring terminals on the ZBMINL2 module to ensure they are securely tightened.
- Physical Damage: If the enclosure is physically damaged, it should be replaced to ensure safety and proper function.
9. User Tips
- Space Saving: The ultra-slim design of the E1GSL is particularly beneficial for installations where wall box depth is limited. This helps avoid issues with traditional switches that might protrude or not fit properly.
- Seamless Integration: The clip-on installation design simplifies the process of integrating the ZBMINL2 module, making it quicker and less cumbersome.
- Aesthetic Appeal: The micro-arc button design and PC material contribute to a clean and modern look, blending well with contemporary interiors.
