1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the LEKATO GA-02 Portable Guitar Amplifier. This compact and versatile amplifier is designed for guitarists who need a portable solution for practice and listening. Featuring both clean and overdrive channels, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, and a rechargeable battery, the GA-02 offers high-quality sound in a mini package.

This manual provides essential information on setting up, operating, and maintaining your amplifier. Please read it thoroughly before use to ensure proper function and longevity of your device.

3. Product Overview

3.1 Front Panel Controls

  • B.T./AUX Vol: Adjusts the volume for Bluetooth and AUX input.
  • B.T. Button: Press to turn Bluetooth on/off and initiate pairing.
  • Overdrive/Clean Button: Toggles between clean and overdrive (distortion) sound channels.
  • Gain: Adjusts the input sensitivity and amount of overdrive/distortion.
  • Tone: Adjusts the tonal characteristics (treble/bass balance).
  • Volume: Adjusts the overall output volume of the amplifier.
  • Power Button: Turns the amplifier on or off.

3.2 Rear Panel Interfaces

  • 1. 6.35mm Instrument Input: Connect your electric guitar, bass, or other compatible instrument.
  • 2. AUX IN: Connect an external audio source (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to play backing tracks.
  • 3. 3.5mm Stereo Headphone Output: Connect headphones for silent practice.
  • 4. 5V Type-C Charging Port: Connect the included USB cable for charging the amplifier.

4. Setup and Operation

4.1 Charging the Amplifier

The GA-02 features a built-in 3.7V/2000mA rechargeable lithium battery, providing up to 6 hours of playtime on a single charge.

  1. Locate the 5V Type-C Charging Port on the rear panel of the amplifier.
  2. Connect one end of the included Type-C USB cable to the amplifier's charging port.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., USB wall adapter, computer USB port).
  4. The charging indicator (if present, usually a small LED) will show the charging status. Once fully charged, the indicator may change color or turn off.

Note: Charge the battery every 2 months to avoid low battery protection issues due to self-discharge, even if not in use.

4.2 Powering On/Off

  • To power on, press the Power Button on the front panel.
  • To power off, press and hold the Power Button until the unit shuts down.

4.3 Connecting an Instrument

  1. Ensure the amplifier is powered off and the Volume knob is set to minimum.
  2. Connect your instrument (electric guitar, bass, etc.) to the 6.35mm Instrument Input on the rear panel using a standard instrument cable.
  3. Power on the amplifier.
  4. Adjust the Volume knob to your desired listening level.

4.4 Selecting Sound Channels (Clean/Overdrive)

The GA-02 offers two distinct sound channels:

  • Press the Overdrive/Clean Button on the front panel to switch between the clean and overdrive (distortion) channels.
  • Use the Gain knob to adjust the intensity of the overdrive effect.
  • Use the Tone knob to shape the overall sound character.

4.5 Using the AUX Input

To play along with external audio:

  1. Connect your external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the AUX IN port on the rear panel using a 1/8" (3.5mm) audio cable.
  2. Adjust the volume of the external device and the B.T./AUX Vol knob on the amplifier to balance the sound with your instrument.

4.6 Bluetooth Connectivity

The GA-02 can connect wirelessly to your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled devices to play music or backing tracks.

  1. Power on the amplifier.
  2. Press the B.T. Button on the front panel to activate Bluetooth mode. The Bluetooth indicator (if present) will typically blink, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  3. On your smartphone or Bluetooth device, go to Bluetooth settings and search for available devices.
  4. Select "TOP-GT" from the list of devices to pair.
  5. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will usually become solid.
  6. Play audio from your device. Adjust the volume using the B.T./AUX Vol knob on the amplifier and your device's volume controls.
  7. To disconnect or turn off Bluetooth, press the B.T. Button again.

4.7 Using Headphones

For silent practice:

  1. Connect your headphones to the 3.5mm Stereo Headphone Output on the rear panel.
  2. The main speaker output will be muted automatically when headphones are connected.
  3. Adjust the Volume knob for your desired headphone listening level.

6. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Clean the amplifier only with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use alcohol or any other cleaning fluids.
  • Storage: Store the amplifier in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, dampness, or dusty areas.
  • Handling: Avoid violent vibrations, shocks, or dropping the product, as this may cause malfunction.
  • Battery Care: The built-in lithium battery has a slight self-discharge. To prolong battery life, charge the amplifier every 2 months, even if not in use, to prevent deep discharge.
  • Disassembly: Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the product yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Ventilation: Do not block any ventilation openings on the amplifier.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your LEKATO GA-02 amplifier, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power:
    • Ensure the amplifier is fully charged. Connect it to a power source using the Type-C USB cable.
    • Check if the Power button is pressed correctly.
  • No Sound from Instrument:
    • Verify that your instrument cable is securely connected to both the instrument and the amplifier's 6.35mm input.
    • Check the instrument's volume and tone controls.
    • Ensure the amplifier's Volume knob is turned up.
    • If headphones are connected, disconnect them to enable the main speaker output.
  • No Sound from Bluetooth/AUX:
    • For Bluetooth, ensure the amplifier is paired with your device ("TOP-GT") and the device's volume is up.
    • For AUX, ensure the audio cable is securely connected and the external device's volume is up.
    • Adjust the B.T./AUX Vol knob on the amplifier.
  • Poor Sound Quality/Interference:
    • Ensure the amplifier is not placed too close to other electronic devices that might cause interference.
    • Check instrument cables for damage.
    • Adjust the Gain and Tone knobs to find the desired sound.
