4. Setup Instructions

The Vention Wireless HDMI system is designed for simple plug-and-play operation. Follow these steps to set up your devices:

  1. Connect Transmitter (TX): Plug the Transmitter unit into the HDMI output port of your source device (e.g., laptop, desktop PC, game console, camera, DV player, set-top box).
  2. Connect Receiver (RX): Plug the Receiver unit into the HDMI input port of your display device (e.g., TV, monitor, projector).
  3. Power Connection: Connect one end of the provided USB-A to USB-C power cable to the USB-C power port on the Transmitter (TX) unit. Connect the USB-A end to a 5V==2A power source (e.g., USB charger, device's USB port). Repeat this step for the Receiver (RX) unit.
  4. Power On: Ensure both the source device and display device are powered on. The Transmitter and Receiver units will automatically establish a connection.

Important Note: Both the transmitter and receiver require a stable 5V==2A power connection during use for optimal performance.

5. Operating Modes

The Vention Wireless HDMI system supports two primary display modes:

  • Mirror Mode: Duplicates your source device's screen onto the connected display. This is ideal for presentations, sharing content, or simply viewing your primary screen on a larger display.
  • Extend Mode: Extends your desktop across two separate displays, allowing for multitasking with different content on each screen. Note: Your computer's operating system and graphics card must support extend mode for this functionality.

6. One-Click Disconnect/Reconnect

For convenient control, the Vention Wireless HDMI system features a one-click button for effortless screen mirroring management.

  • Simply press the button on the Transmitter (TX) unit to disconnect the wireless display.
  • Press the button again to reconnect and resume screen mirroring.

Note: This feature supports a single transmitter-to-receiver connection only.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Vention Wireless HDMI system, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • No Signal/Black Screen:
    • Ensure both the Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX) units are properly powered via their USB-C ports and connected to a stable 5V==2A power source.
    • Verify that the HDMI cables (if any external ones are used) are securely connected to both the source and display devices.
    • Check if the source device's HDMI output is active and the display device is set to the correct HDMI input.
  • Lag, Latency, or Flickering:
    • Ensure there is a direct line of sight between the Transmitter and Receiver units. Obstructions (walls, furniture, etc.) can significantly degrade signal quality and range.
    • Minimize interference from other wireless devices operating on similar frequencies. The Vention system uses a 5GHz Wi-Fi band for better performance.
    • Reduce the distance between the TX and RX units if you are near the maximum effective range of 50 meters.
  • Audio/Video Sync Issues:
    • Ensure both units are receiving adequate power.
    • Check the source device's audio settings.

8. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, ensure a clear line of sight between the Transmitter and Receiver units, especially when operating at longer distances. Physical obstructions like walls or large objects can interfere with the wireless signal.
  • Always ensure both the Transmitter and Receiver units are connected to a reliable 5V==2A power source using the provided USB-C cables. Insufficient power can lead to unstable connections or reduced performance.
  • When using Extend Mode, confirm that your computer's operating system and graphics settings are configured to support extended displays.
  • The compact, thumb-sized design makes these units highly portable. Consider using a protective case when transporting them to prevent damage.

9. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Vention Wireless HDMI Transmitter and Receiver, please follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the devices. Avoid using liquid cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish or internal components.
  • Storage: Store the devices in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
  • Handling: Handle the units with care. Avoid dropping them or subjecting them to strong impacts.
  • Disassembly: Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the devices yourself. This will void the warranty and may cause damage or injury. Contact professional support if service is required.
