1. Introduction

The KERUI W202 is a high-end GSM/WiFi alarm system featuring a 2.4-inch TFT color screen, a touch keyboard, and a powerful built-in CPU master for stable and reliable performance. This system can be wirelessly connected with various accessories such as PIR motion sensors, door sensors, smoke detectors, gas detectors, remote controls, and emergency buttons.

Upon receiving an alarm notification, the panel's LED display will immediately show the alarm zone. Simultaneously, the panel will push an alarm message via the mobile APP and call preset user numbers to inform them. The W202 is designed for comprehensive security in various environments including homes, factories, schools, stores, financial offices, villas, and communities.

2. Setup

2.1 Installation Location

The alarm panel should be installed in a central location within the guarded area to ensure it receives all signals from detectors effectively. Avoid installing it near large metal objects or appliances that generate high-frequency interference. Also, be mindful of reinforced concrete walls and fire doors, as these can act as barriers to wireless signals.

2.2 Power On

Connect the main power line to the "Line" port on the alarm panel. Insert a valid SIM card into the designated slot. Once connected to power, you will hear an audible alert: "Welcome to use alarm system".

2.3 Network Configuration

The KERUI W202 alarm system supports both Wi-Fi and AP hotspot connections for remote control via the Tuya Smart app.

2.3.1 Wi-Fi Connection (Smart Connection)

  1. Ensure your mobile phone is connected to your home Wi-Fi router (2.4GHz network only) and has internet access.
  2. Open the Tuya Smart app. On the homepage, tap "Add Device".
  3. Select "WIFI Connector" from the "Other" category.
  4. Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap "Next".
  5. On the alarm panel, press the "Menu" key to enter the main page. Use the "Up/Down" keys to navigate to "LAN", then press "√" or input "7".
  6. Press "2" to disconnect from any connected Wi-Fi network.
  7. Press "1" to enter the network access configuration state.
  8. In the app, confirm the indicator is blinking rapidly and select "Blink Quickly" to start configuring the network.
  9. The app will search for nearby devices and add the alarm panel.

2.3.2 AP Connection

  1. Ensure your mobile phone is first connected to your home Wi-Fi router.
  2. Open the Tuya Smart app. On the homepage, tap "Add Device", then select "WIFI Connector" in the "Other" page. Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap "Next".
  3. On the alarm panel, press the "Menu" key to enter the main page. Use the "Up/Down" keys to navigate to "LAN", then press "√" or input "7".
  4. Press "3" to enter the AP network access configuration state.
  5. In the app, tap "Confirm indicator light flashes quickly" and select "Blink Slowly". Tap "Connect" to jump to your mobile phone's Wi-Fi connection page.
  6. Connect to the Wi-Fi hotspot broadcasted by the device (e.g., "SmarLife-XXXX", no password).
  7. Return to the Tuya Smart app to complete the AP connection.

3. Operation

3.1 Arming and Disarming

The KERUI W202 alarm system offers multiple ways to arm and disarm, including keyboard, remote control, and mobile app.

3.1.1 Arm (Full Arm)

Full Arm activates on-site alarm detection for all sensors when no one is home. All detectors are active and will trigger an immediate alarm if a threat (theft, fire, gas leak, etc.) is detected. After arming, the panel displays the "Arm" icon.

  • Remote Control: Press the "Arm" key once.
  • Keyboard: Press the "Arm" key once.

3.1.2 Disarm

Disarm stops the alarm or places the system in a non-alert state. When disarmed, detectors will not trigger an alarm, except for emergency zone detectors and the remote control's emergency button. After disarming, the panel displays the "Disarm" icon.

  • Remote Control: Press the "Disarm" key.
  • Keyboard: Press the "Disarm" key.

3.1.3 Home Arm

Home Arm is used when someone is at home. Perimeter sensors (doors, windows, balconies) remain active, but indoor detectors are inactive to prevent false alarms triggered by the user. To use this function, interior detectors must be configured as Home Arm zones. After Home Arm operation, the panel displays the "Home Arm" icon.

  • Remote Control: Press the "Home Arm" key.

3.2 Emergency Alarm

In an emergency, press the panic key on the remote control or press the "√" button on the panel for 3 seconds to activate the emergency alarm state. If keypad protection is enabled, you must enter the password (initial password: 123456) before operating the keyboard.

3.3 Contacts (Alarm Phone Numbers)

To manage alarm phone numbers, press the "Menu" key on the keypad. The LED screen will display 8 functional icons. Select the "Contacts" icon by pressing "up/down" or directly inputting "1". The panel supports up to 8 groups of alarm numbers, each configurable for Call, SMS, or RFID. Each phone number can be up to 20 digits long.

3.3.1 Add Alarm Phone Number

In the Contacts menu, use "Up/Down" to select a group, then press "√". Input the alarm phone number (e.g., 12345678) in the empty line. Use the "Down" key to choose function icons (Call, SMS, RFID) and press "MENU" to save. Press "Return" to go back to the main menu.

Note: When inputting numbers, long press "*" to input "*" and long press "disarm" to input "#".

3.3.2 Delete Alarm Phone Number

  • Delete a single group: In the alarm number page, select the number using "Up/Down", press "√". A menu will pop up. Select "Delete", then "Yes" and "√" to confirm.
  • Delete all: In the alarm number page, select the "Delete All" function at the bottom using "Up/Down", then press "√". Confirm with "Yes" and "√".

3.4 Accessories Management

To manage accessories, navigate to "Accessories Management" from the main menu using "Up/Down" or by inputting "2".

3.4.1 Remote Control

  • Add Remote Control: In the accessories management page, press "√" or "1" to enter the Remote page. Use "Up/Down" to select a zone (01-99) or input the number directly. Press "√" to enter the adding page. Press any key on the remote control; the panel will beep once, indicating successful addition. You can add multiple remote controls to different zones.
  • Delete Remote Control: Select the zone with the remote control to delete, press "√". Choose "Delete", then "Yes" and "√" to confirm. To delete all remote controls, select "Delete All" at the bottom of the Remote page and confirm.
  • Accompanying Sound: In the Remote adding page, choose whether to enable accompanying sound (1 for ON, 2 for OFF). When ON, the connected siren will beep when the remote control arms/disarms.

3.4.2 Sensor

  • Add Sensor: In the accessories management page, select "Sensor" and press "βœ”" or "2". Use "Up/Down" to select a zone (01-99) or input the number directly. Press "βœ”" to enter the sensor adding page. Trigger the sensor to send a signal; the panel will beep once, indicating successful addition. If an error tone is heard, the sensor is already added.
  • Delete Sensor: Select the zone with the sensor to delete, press "βœ”". Choose "Delete", then "Yes" and "βœ”" to confirm. To delete all sensors, select "Delete All" at the bottom of the Sensor page and confirm.
  • Switch On/Off Siren: On the "Sensor" adding page, select "Siren" to toggle the siren on/off (1 for ON, 2 for OFF). Press "βœ”" to save.
  • Attribute: On the "Sensor" adding page, select "Attribute" using "Down". Choose from options like Instant, Home, Smart, Emergency, Disable, Doorbell, Chime, Medical. Press "βœ”" to save.
  • Event Code: On the "Sensor" adding page, select "Event code" using "Down". Choose from options like Ambulance, Fire, Panic, Silent, Burglar, Perimeter, Gas. Press "βœ”" to save.
  • Entry Delay: On the "Sensor" adding page, select "Entry delay" using "Down". Input the delay time (0-255 seconds) and press "βœ”" to save. (Only 1-10 zones can set Entry Delay separately).

3.4.3 RFID Card

  • Add RFID Card: In the "Sensors" setting page, select "RFID" and press "βœ”" or "3". Enter the RFID adding page and swipe the card. The panel will beep once and show "added". (Up to 20 defense zones, one card per zone).
  • Delete RFID Card: In the RFID card page, select the defense zone to delete using "Up/Down", press "βœ”". Choose "Delete", then "Yes" and "βœ”" to confirm. To delete all RFID cards, select "Delete All" at the bottom and confirm.
  • Use RFID to Disarm: In the RFID adding page, select "RFID Disarm". Press "Menu" to toggle ON/OFF, then "βœ”" to save. Default is ON.
  • RFID Card SMS Notice: In the RFID adding page, select "RFID SMS Notice". Press "Menu" to toggle ON/OFF, then "βœ”" to save. If ON, the panel sends SMS "No. X to go home". Default is OFF.

3.4.4 Wireless Siren

  • Add Wireless Siren: Long press "Set" on the siren until its indicator light is on. In the panel, enter "Wireless Siren" setting page. Press "Menu" to toggle "Wireless Siren" ON/OFF. The panel sends a signal; if successful, the siren beeps and flashes twice. Press "Set" on the siren to exit.
  • Wireless Siren Alarm: In the "Wireless Siren" setting page, select "Output With Alarm". Press "Menu" to toggle ON/OFF, then "βœ”" to save. Default is ON. When ON, the siren alarms with the panel.

3.4.5 Wireless Outlet

  • Add Wireless Outlet: Long press "set" on the smart outlet until its indicator light goes off. In the panel, enter "Wireless Outlet" setting page. Press "Menu" to toggle "Wireless Outlet" ON/OFF. The panel sends a signal; if successful, it will speak "Add successfully". Press "Set" on the outlet to exit. (Up to 20 smart outlets can be programmed).
  • Output with Alarm: In the "Wireless Outlet" setting page, select "Output With Alarm". Press "Menu" to toggle ON/OFF, then "βœ”" to save. Default is ON. When ON, the smart outlet automatically switches on when the panel alarms and off when the alarm stops.

3.4.6 Illegal Arm

In the "Sensors" setting page, select "Illegal Arm" and press "Menu" to toggle ON/OFF. This feature detects if door contact detectors are closed. If not closed, the panel will speak "XX zone open" when armed. If closed, there is no prompt.

3.4.7 Tamper Alarm

In the "Sensors" setting page, select "Tamper alarm" or press "7" and press "Menu" to toggle ON/OFF. If this switch is on, the panel will alarm if someone attempts to tamper with the sensor.

3.5 Recording

When the panel alarms, it will call the preset alarm number and play a self-service voice recording. To set up recording, enter "Menu", select "Recording", and press "βœ”" or "3". Press "1" to start a 10-second countdown, then speak your message into the panel. The message should be concise, e.g., "Here is XXX home, the house was illegally invaded, please help." Press "1" or "2" to exit. After recording, you can press "2" on the recording page to playback.

3.6 Appliance

To manage appliances, enter "Menu", select "Appliance", and press "βœ”" or "4".

3.6.1 Outlet List

In the "Appliance" setting page, select "Outlet List" and press "βœ”". Select the target Outlet number, then press "Menu" to toggle the socket ON/OFF. Alternatively, press "1" for ON and "2" for OFF. The alarm host/panel will send an ON/OFF signal. Factory default is OFF.

3.6.2 Outlet Timer

In the "Appliance" setting page, select "Outlet Timer" and press "βœ”". Select a target item, then press "βœ”" to enter the adding page. Set the time, operation, week, and outlet number. Press "Up/Down" and "Menu" to set, then "βœ”" to save.

  • Delete Outlet Timer: In the timer switch page, select the item to delete using "Up/Down", press "βœ”". Choose "Delete", then "Yes" and "βœ”" to confirm. To delete all timers, select "Delete All" at the bottom and confirm.

3.7 System Settings

To access system settings, enter "Menu", select "System", and press "√" or "5".

3.7.1 Delay Setting

In the "System" settings page, select "Delay" and press "√".

  • Arm Delay: Select "Arming Delay", input delay time (0-255 seconds), then press "√" to save. The panel will arm after the preset time, beeping every second during the delay. "0" means no delay.
  • Entry Delay: Select "Entry delay", input delay time (0-255 seconds), then press "√" to save. The panel will alarm after the preset time, beeping every second during the delay. "0" means no delay.

3.7.2 Auto Arm/Disarm

In the "System" settings page, select "Auto Arm/Disarm" and press "√".

  • Add Auto Arm/Disarm: In the Auto Arm/Disarm page, select a setting item using "Up/Down", then press "√". Set time, arm/disarm mode, and week. Press "√" to save and exit.
  • Delete Auto Arm/Disarm: Select the item to delete using "Up/Down", press "√". Choose "Delete", then "Yes" and "√" to confirm. To delete all settings, select "Delete All" at the bottom and confirm.

3.7.3 Date & Time

In the "System" settings page, select "Date & Time" and press "βœ”". Set Year, Month, Date, Hour, Minute, Second by inputting numbers. Use "Up/Down" to switch fields. Press "βœ”" to save and exit.

3.7.4 Volume Setting

In the "System" settings page, select "Volume" and press "βœ”".

  • Voice Volume: Input a level from 0-7 (0 is mute, 7 is max). Default is 5. Press "√" to save.
  • Alarm Volume: Select "Alarm Volume" using "Down". Input a level from 0-7 (0 is mute, 7 is max). Default is 5. Press "√" to save.

3.7.5 Siren & Ring

In the "System" settings page, select "Siren & Ring" and press "βœ”".

  • Siren Time: Input alarm time from 0-20 minutes. Press "√" to save. "0" means no alarm sound. Default is 1 minute.
  • Ring Times: Input ringing times from 0-20. Press "√" to save. "0" means remote control function is off. "20" means 20 consecutive rings.

3.7.6 Server

In the system settings page, use "Up/Down" to navigate to "Server", then press "√". Factory default is off.

3.7.7 Key Tone

In the "System" settings page, select "Key tone" and press "βœ”". Press "Menu" to toggle ON/OFF, then "βœ”" to save. When ON, the host beeps once for each key press.

3.7.8 Screensaver

In the "System" settings page, select "Screensaver" and press "βœ”". Options include 30, 60 seconds, 2, 5, 10 minutes, or Never. Select an item, press "Menu" to select, then "√" to save. Default is 30 seconds; the LED screen turns off and enters sleep mode after this time if no operation occurs.

3.7.9 Language

In the "System" settings page, select "Language" and press "βœ”". Select the target language and press "βœ”" to save.

3.7.10 Security

In the "System" settings page, select "Security" and press "βœ”".

  • User Password: Input a 4-digit user password and press "βœ”" to save. This password allows arm/disarm/home arm operations when the keypad lock is open.
  • Admin Password: Use "Scroll Down" to navigate to "Administrator Password". Input a 6-digit password and press "βœ”" to save. The admin password has the highest authority, can open the keypad lock, and is used for remote phone/SMS settings. Default is 123456.
  • PIN: Use "Scroll Down" to navigate to "PIN". Input a 4-digit PIN and press "βœ”" to save. This PIN protects the SIM card; if enabled, you must enter it after each boot. Incorrect PIN three times locks the card.
  • Keypad Lock: Use "Scroll Down" to navigate to "Keypad Lock". Press "Menu" to toggle ON/OFF, then "βœ”" to save. When ON, the keypad locks in sleep state. You can manually lock by holding "Return Key" for 3 seconds.

3.7.11 Arm/Disarm SMS

In the "System" settings page, select "Arm/Disarm SMS" and press "βœ”". There are three options: "Arm SMS Notice", "Disarm SMS Notice", and "Home SMS Notice". Press "Menu" to select and "βœ”" to save.

3.7.12 SMS Reply

In the "System" settings page, select "SMS reply" and press "βœ”". Press "Menu" to toggle ON/OFF, then "βœ”" to save. When ON, the panel replies to user SMS for SMS settings. Default is ON.

3.7.13 Wallpaper

In the "System" settings page, select "Wallpaper" and press "βœ”". There are 4 options. Select the target item and press "βœ”" to save.

3.7.14 Power Failure Setting

In the system settings page, use "Up/Down" to navigate to "Power Alarm", then press "√".

  • Power Off: On the power alarm page, select "host power off". Options: voice, alarm, text message, phone. Use "Up/Down" to select, "Menu" to confirm, "√" to save. The host reminds you when power is off.
  • Power On: On the power alarm page, select "Incoming Host Call". Options: voice, alarm, SMS, call. Use "Up/Down" to select, "Menu" to confirm, "√" to save. The host reminds you of incoming calls.
  • Panel Low Power: On the power alarm page, select "Host Low Power". Options: voice, alarm, SMS, call. Use "Up/Down" to select, "Menu" to confirm, "√" to save. The host reminds you to charge when the battery is low.
  • Sensors Low Power: On the power alarm page, select "Detector Low Power". Options: voice, alarm, SMS, call. Use "Up/Down" to select, "Menu" to confirm, "√" to save. The main unit receives low power signals from detectors and reminds you to replace batteries.

3.7.15 Restore Factory Defaults

In the "System" settings page, select "Restore Factory Defaults" and press "βœ”". Options: "Delete remotes", "Delete sensors", "Delete RFID tags", and "Restore Factory Defaults". Select an item using "Menu" and press "βœ”" to save.

3.8 Phone Call

From the main page, use "Up/Down" to navigate to "Phone" or input "6". Input the phone number (e.g., 10086), press the "Call" button to start the call, and the "Back" button to hang up. The phone page records calls made, showing number, date, time, and other details. Use "Up/Down" to select a number and "βœ”" to replay.

3.9 Wi-Fi

From the main menu, select "Wi-Fi" and press "βœ”" or input "7". Press "1" to open Wi-Fi, "2" to close. Refer to Section 2.3 for connection methods.

3.10 Alarm Log

From the main menu, select "More" and press "βœ”" or input "8". This section provides operation history for "Arm/Disarm History", "Alarm History", and "RFID History".

  • Arm/Disarm Record: In the black box page, press "Confirm" to query arming/disarming records. Use "Up/Down" to view records (up to 99), showing arming mode, date, time, and method.
  • Alarm Record: In the black box page, use "Scroll" to "Alarm Record", press "Confirm" to query alarm records. Use "Up/Down" to view records (up to 99), showing alarm date, time, and area code.
  • RFID Swipe Record: In the black box page, use "Scroll" to "RFID Swipe Record", press "Confirm" to query card swiping records. Use "Up/Down" to view records (up to 99), showing card swiping date, time, and protection area code.

3.11 About Us

From the main menu, select "More" and press "√", then select "About us" or input "9". This page displays product model number, software version number, IMEI code, and MAC address.

4. Maintenance

  • Battery Management: The system features a low-battery reminder for both the main panel and connected sensors. Replace batteries promptly when notified. The main panel has a built-in 3.7V high-capacity lithium backup battery, providing approximately 8 hours of operation during power outages.
