2. Setup Guide

2.1 What's in the Box

Before you begin, please check the contents of your package:

2.2 Device Layout and Interfaces

Familiarize yourself with the ports and indicators on your KM9 Pro Max:

  • DC Power Input: Connect the provided 12V/1A power adapter here.
  • LAN: Connect an Ethernet cable for wired internet access.
  • HDMI: Connect to your TV's HDMI input for video and audio output.
  • AV: Analog video/audio output (for older TVs).
  • SPDIF: Digital audio output.
  • USB 2.0 (x2): Connect USB devices such as external storage, keyboards, or gamepads.
  • RESET: Button for factory reset (use a paperclip or similar tool).
  • IR: Infrared receiver for the remote control.
  • Net Indicator: Shows network activity.
  • Power Indicator: Shows power status.

2.3 Remote Control Setup

The KM9 Pro Max comes with an IR+BT Voice Remote. To set it up:

  1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Insert two AAA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment.
  4. The remote will automatically pair with the device upon first use. If not, follow on-screen instructions or refer to the troubleshooting section.

2.4 Connecting to Your TV

  1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the KM9 Pro Max and the other end to an available HDMI input on your TV.
  2. Connect the power adapter to the DC Power Input port on the KM9 Pro Max, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
  3. (Optional) For a wired internet connection, connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the LAN port on the KM9 Pro Max.
  4. (Optional) Connect any desired USB devices (e.g., USB drive, keyboard) to the USB 2.0 ports.
  5. Turn on your TV and select the correct HDMI input source using your TV remote.
  6. The device will power on automatically.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Initial Setup Wizard

Upon first power-on, the device will guide you through an initial setup process:

  1. **Language Selection:** Choose your preferred language.
  2. **Network Connection:** Connect to your Wi-Fi network or confirm the wired Ethernet connection.
  3. **Google Account Login:** Sign in with your Google account to access Google Play Store, Google Assistant, and personalize your Google TV experience.
  4. **Google TV Features:** Follow prompts to enable Google Assistant, customize content recommendations, and install essential apps.
  5. **Remote Pairing:** If your remote is not already paired, the setup wizard will guide you through the Bluetooth pairing process.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

  • Ensure the device is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.

If you experience problems with your MECOOL KM9 Pro Max, try the following solutions:

  • **No Power:** Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the device and a working power outlet.
  • **No Signal on TV:** Verify that the HDMI cable is correctly connected to both the device and the TV, and that your TV is set to the correct HDMI input source.
  • **Remote Control Not Responding:** Check the batteries in the remote control. If the remote is Bluetooth, ensure it is properly paired with the device. If it's an IR remote, ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the device's IR receiver.
  • **Network Connection Issues:** Check your router and internet connection. For Wi-Fi, ensure the password is correct. For wired connections, check the Ethernet cable.
  • **App Freezing/Crashing:** Try restarting the app. If the issue persists, clear the app's cache and data in the device settings, or uninstall and reinstall the app.
  • **Poor Video Quality:** Ensure your internet connection is stable and fast enough for 4K streaming. Check your TV's resolution settings and ensure they are set to 4K if supported.

8. Warranty and Support

8.1 Warranty Information

This product comes with a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase. During this period, if there is any problem with your product, please contact customer service with a video demonstrating the issue. Our technical staff will verify the problem.

  • If the product can be repaired, the seller will cover the repair cost and shipping cost, but the buyer is responsible for the return shipping cost.
  • If the product is verified to have an irreparable problem:
    • Within 90 days from the date of purchase, we can resend a new product or provide a full refund.
    • Within 180 days from the date of purchase, the buyer pays the shipping fee, and we can resend a new product.
    • Within 360 days from the date of purchase, we will refund 50% of the buyer's purchase amount (excluding shipping costs).

Please Note:

  • The warranty does not cover damages caused by unauthorized disassembly of the product without the seller's permission. In such cases, the seller reserves the right to refuse after-sales service, and the buyer shall bear the consequences.
