4.2 Measurement Functions
4.2.1 Automatic Recognition (LCR)
The LM08 features automatic recognition for inductance, capacitance, and resistance. You can directly plug components into the designated sockets or use the test leads/Kelvin clips. The main and auxiliary parameters will be displayed simultaneously.

Figure 4.2: Automatic component recognition.
4.2.2 Kelvin Four-wire Measurement
For improved accuracy, especially with low-value components or when wire resistance might affect readings, use the Kelvin four-wire connection method. This involves using the Kelvin clips and an insulating separator.
- Connect the red Kelvin clip to the Hcur and Hpot ports.
- Connect the black Kelvin clip to the Lcur and Lpot ports.
- Insert an insulating separator between the jaws of the Kelvin clips if needed to isolate the component.
- Attach the Kelvin clips to the component to be measured.
- You can adjust parameters such as frequency, level, and equivalent mode using the respective keys.
