Setup and Installation
Pre-Installation Test
Before full installation, perform a quick test to ensure the device is functioning correctly.
- Combine the red and yellow wires of the car stereo and connect them to the positive pole of the battery.
- Connect the black wire to the negative pole of the battery.
- After approximately 2 seconds, check if the car stereo screen lights up. If it does, the unit is functioning properly.

Machine Installation
The car stereo has a universal size suitable for most cars. Installation methods include:
- Screw Fixed Installation: Secure the unit using screws.
- Card Position Fixed Installation: Install by aligning with card slots.
- Special Frame Fixed Installation: Use a dedicated frame for installation.
If the unit does not fit your car, you may need aftermarket accessories such as a double DIN dash kit, wire harness, or antenna adapter specific to your car's year, make, and model. Alternatively, you might need to modify your car's original frame.
Rear View Camera Wiring (Optional)
When using the rear view reversing function, the system will automatically disconnect mobile phone links (calls, BT music, mirroring). This is normal behavior.
Note: Whether you use a reversing camera or not, connect the reversing cable. Otherwise, your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals may be affected!
Wiring Steps:
- Connect the reversing trigger line (Back (A6)) to the reversing line in the power harness.
- Connect the red wire from the camera to the positive pole of the reverse light cable.
- Connect the camera's ground wire to GND.
- Connect the camera's power cable to the + Reversing light Cable.
- Connect the video output from the camera to the video input on the monitor.
After installation, start the engine and engage reverse gear. Check if the monitor automatically displays the rear view image. If not, recheck the installation.
Adjust the rearview camera angle to ensure the rear bumper is clearly visible, ideally occupying 5% of the screen image. Then, lock the lens bracket screws.

Troubleshooting
Simple Troubleshooting Guide
| Problem | Cause and Resolve |
|---|---|
| Power off | Check if the power fuse is burned out and replace it. Reconnect DC wires if connection is faulty. |
| Fail in keying | Program disorder; press reset button or turn off power to restart. |
| Fail in getting stations | Check if the antenna is inserted or connected correctly. |
| Poor radio reception | 1. Antenna length may be incorrect or broken. 2. Radio signal is too weak. 3. Antenna is not grounded correctly. |
| "STEREO" flashing | 1. Tune radio frequency accurately. 2. Radio signal is too weak (press ST button to turn off stereo). |
| Noise, image jumping, no color | Disc is damaged or blurry. Color system setup is incorrect; set to PAL or NTSC. |
| Remote unavailable | 1. Remote control battery has no power; change battery. 2. Remote control window unable to receive signal; aim remote at receiver. |
| USB no reading | Connection is incorrect. Card is unsupported. |
Detailed Troubleshooting
1. Car radio does not turn on, or turns off after prolonged use.
- Ensure the red cable is connected to the ignition-positive terminal, the yellow cable to the battery-positive terminal (B+ 12V), and the black cable to the battery-negative terminal (GND 12V). Use only in a 12V-output vehicle.
- If the radio remains off after confirming correct wiring, temporarily connect the red and yellow cables together and attach them to the 12V-positive terminal.
- Check if the fuse is blown.
2. Car radio powers on but produces no sound, or sound cuts out during playback.
- Speaker negative wires are improperly grounded.
- The amplifier IC may be burned out due to a short circuit in the wiring.
- Check if any speaker cables have a short circuit and ensure each is individually insulated.
- If wiring is correct, test with another speaker to confirm if the problem is with the radio or car's system.
3. Car radio's Bluetooth is not working, or it works for a while then disconnects.
- Forget and Re-pair: Go to your phone's BT settings, forget "CAR-MP5", then re-pair. Enter default PINs like 0000, 1234, or 88888888.
- If the above doesn't work, try finding the "reset hole" on the front panel and perform a reset. Alternatively, unhook the power connector for a few minutes and replug it.
4. Car radio's microphone is not working, phone call from the other side can't hear clearly.
- Check the BT volume setting.
- Ensure the microphone is not too far from you (e.g., dashboard too low).
5. Car radio cannot read your USB flash disk or SD/TF card.
- Confirm the capacity; it typically reads up to 32GB.
- Try other flash disks with fewer songs.
- Ensure the SD/TF card is inserted correctly.
6. Car radio's remote control does not work.
- Check if the remote has the correct battery inside.
7. The reversing camera cannot work in the radio.
- Check if the pink cable is wired correctly with the reversing camera's controlling cable.
8. Car radio cannot save the time or radio station setting.
- Check if the Yellow cable is wired with your car's battery 12V+ (constant positive) to provide constant power.
9. Car radio noise problem.
- Noise, especially with an amplifier, can be due to interference. Ensure all cables are well-wrapped.
- Test with another speaker to confirm if the problem is with the radio or your car's system.
10. Screen Mirroring Failure.
- Device Compatibility: Ensure your phone supports Mirroring.
- Connection: Enable car's Wi-Fi/BT, activate phone's screen mirroring, and select "CAR-MP5".
- No Signal: Restart both devices. Note that some phones do not support mirroring.

User Tips
- Vehicle Compatibility: While universal, always verify compatibility with your specific vehicle model and year (e.g., Ford Ranger 2014, GMC Terrain 2012) to ensure proper fit and wiring.
- Wiring Accuracy: Double-check all wiring connections, especially power and speaker lines, to prevent damage to the unit and ensure correct functionality. Incorrect wiring is a common cause of issues.
- Protective Film: Remember to remove any protective films from the unit, particularly from the back, to allow for proper heat dissipation and prevent overheating.
- Mirrorlink Setup: When using Mirrorlink, ensure your smartphone is in landscape mode for full-screen display on the car radio. For audio, always confirm that Bluetooth is connected between your phone and the unit.
- Remote Control Battery: The remote control does not include a battery due to customs reasons. You will need a CR2025 3V battery.
