Setup

1. Prerequisites

  • A compatible ZigBee gateway (e.g., Hue, Alexa, Tuya, Homey) is required for ZigBee functionality (APP control, voice control).
  • If a ZigBee gateway is not available, a GLEDOPTO 2.4G RF remote control or wall switch can be used for local control with Plus/Pro Version Products. Note that 2.4G RF devices are not ZigBee.

2. Wiring Instructions

The relay switch features quick connect ports for simplified wiring. Ensure power is disconnected before proceeding with any wiring.

  1. Open the connector: Gently lift the connector tab upwards.
  2. Insert the wire: Insert the stripped wire (8-9mm preparation, 0.5-1.63mm² / 24-14AWG) into the port.
  3. Secure the wire: Press down the connector tab to secure the wire.

3. Pairing with a ZigBee Gateway

Once wired, follow your ZigBee gateway's instructions to add a new device. The GLEDOPTO relay switch is compatible with ZigBee 3.0 gateways from brands like Hue, Alexa, Tuya, and SmartThings. The device will typically enter pairing mode automatically upon first power-up or after a reset.

Operating Instructions

1. Basic On/Off Control

The relay switch can be controlled via a connected physical switch (push or rocker type) or through your smart home system.

2. App Control

Once paired with a ZigBee gateway, you can control connected devices using the corresponding smartphone application (e.g., Tuya Smart Life app). This allows you to turn devices on/off from anywhere.

4. 2.4G RF Remote Control (Optional)

If you have a GLEDOPTO 2.4G RF remote control (e.g., GL-RC-002, GL-RC-006, GL-RC-007, GL-RC-009, GL-W-003Z), you can pair it directly with the relay switch for local wireless control, especially useful for Plus/Pro Version Products without a ZigBee gateway.

5. Power-off Memory Function

The device offers two optional modes for its power-off memory function:

  • Lights up by default when powered on: The device will turn on automatically after a power failure.
  • Remember the state of the on/off before power failure: The device will return to its last known state (on or off) after a power failure.

To enable/disable this function, long press the "On/Off" key for more than 5 seconds. The connected device will turn on and off twice, indicating activation of this function.

Troubleshooting

  • Device not responding: Check all wiring connections to ensure they are secure. Verify the power supply is active.
  • Cannot pair with ZigBee gateway: Ensure the gateway is powered on and within range. Try resetting the relay switch (long press Reset button for 5+ seconds) and re-initiating the pairing process on your gateway.
  • Indicator light behavior: Refer to Figure 4 for expected indicator light status (flashing for push switch, steady on for rocker switch). Unexpected behavior may indicate a wiring issue or incorrect switch type setting.
  • Intermittent connectivity: Ensure the ZigBee gateway is centrally located and not obstructed by large metal objects. Consider the number of ZigBee devices in your network; ZigBee 3.0 supports more connections for better network stability.
