  1. Install the I/O shield into the chassis's rear panel opening.
  2. Align the motherboard with the standoffs in the chassis.
  3. Secure the motherboard with screws.

2.6. Power Connections

  • Connect the 24-pin ATX main power connector from your power supply to the motherboard.
  • Connect the 8-pin ATX 12V CPU power connector to the motherboard.

2.7. Storage Device Connections

Connect your SATA storage devices (HDDs/SSDs) to the SATA 6Gb/s connectors on the motherboard using SATA data cables. Ensure power cables from the PSU are also connected to the drives.

2.8. Front Panel Connections

Connect the chassis's front panel cables (Power LED, HDD LED, Power Switch, Reset Switch, Front USB, Front Audio) to their respective headers on the motherboard. Refer to the motherboard diagram for exact locations.

2.9. Expansion Card Installation

Insert graphics cards into the PCI Express x16 slot and other expansion cards (e.g., network cards, sound cards) into the PCI Express x1 slots. Secure them with the chassis's retention mechanism.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. First Boot and BIOS/UEFI Setup

  1. After all components are installed and connected, power on your system.
  2. Press the designated key (usually DEL or F2) during startup to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup utility.
  3. Configure basic settings such as boot order, date, and time. Save changes and exit.

3.2. Operating System Installation

Insert your operating system installation media (USB drive or DVD) and follow the on-screen prompts to install the OS. Ensure the boot order is set correctly in BIOS/UEFI.

3.3. Driver Installation

After OS installation, install the necessary drivers for the motherboard chipset, integrated graphics (if applicable), LAN, and audio. These drivers are typically provided on a support CD/DVD or can be downloaded from the Gigabyte official website.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Cleaning

Regularly clean dust from the motherboard and components using compressed air. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning. Avoid using liquids or abrasive materials.

4.2. BIOS/UEFI Updates

BIOS/UEFI updates can improve system stability, add support for new hardware, or fix bugs. Download the latest BIOS/UEFI version from the official Gigabyte website for your specific motherboard model. Follow the update instructions carefully to avoid system damage.

4.3. CMOS Battery Replacement

The CMOS battery (CR2032) powers the BIOS/UEFI settings and system clock. If your system frequently loses time or BIOS settings, the battery may need replacement. Power off the system, locate the battery, gently pry it out, and insert a new one with the positive side facing up.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1. No Power/No Boot

  • Check all power connections (24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU).
  • Ensure the power supply is functional.
  • Verify the front panel power switch connection.
  • Try booting with minimal components (CPU, one RAM stick, GPU if no integrated graphics).

5.2. No Display

  • Ensure the monitor is connected to the correct video output (motherboard or discrete GPU).
  • Check if the graphics card is properly seated and powered.
  • Test with a different monitor or cable.

5.3. Component Not Detected

  • Reseat the component (RAM, GPU, storage drive).
  • Check power and data cables for storage drives.
  • Verify that the component is compatible with the motherboard.

5.4. Resetting BIOS/UEFI Settings

To clear CMOS settings, power off the system and unplug it. Locate the 'Clear CMOS' jumper (often labeled CLR_CMOS or similar) and short the pins for 5-10 seconds, or remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes and then reinsert it. This will revert BIOS settings to default.
