6.2 Hair Cutting

The VGR V-668 is suitable for both wet and dry haircuts.

  1. Ensure hair is clean and detangled. For best results, use on dry hair for precision cuts or slightly damp hair for easier gliding.
  2. Attach the desired guide comb for the initial length. For closer cuts or detailing, use the taper lever without a guide comb.
  3. Hold the clipper with the blades pointing downwards, against the direction of hair growth.
  4. Start cutting from the bottom of the head, moving upwards in slow, steady strokes.
  5. Overlap each stroke to ensure an even cut.
  6. Use the taper lever to create seamless blends and fades.
  7. For outlining and detailing, remove the guide comb and use the bare blade with the taper lever set to its lowest setting (0.8mm).

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Blades

  1. After each use, turn off the clipper and remove any attached guide comb.
  2. Use the provided cleaning brush to brush away loose hairs from the blades and the clipper body.
  3. For a more thorough clean, the blades can be carefully detached (refer to specific blade removal instructions if provided, otherwise proceed with caution).
  4. The clipper has an IPX4 splash-proof construction, allowing for light rinsing of the blades under running water. Ensure the clipper body is not submerged.
  5. Allow blades to air dry completely before reattaching or storing.

7.2 Oiling the Blades

To maintain optimal performance and blade longevity, it is crucial to oil the blades regularly.

  • Apply a few drops of clipper oil (not included due to airline regulations) to the blades after every few uses, or as needed.
  • Turn on the clipper for a few seconds to allow the oil to distribute evenly.
  • Wipe off any excess oil with a clean cloth.

7.3 Storage

  • Store the clipper in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Always place the protective cap over the blades when not in use to prevent damage.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Clipper does not turn on. Battery is depleted. Charge the clipper for 3.5 hours.
Clipper pulls hair or cuts unevenly. Blades are dull, dirty, or not oiled. Clean and oil the blades. Ensure blades are properly aligned.
Reduced motor speed or power. Low battery or hair buildup in blades. Recharge the clipper. Clean the blades thoroughly.
Excessive vibration or noise. Blades may be loose or misaligned. Check blade alignment and ensure they are securely fastened.

9. User Tips

  • Regular Oiling: Always keep your blades oiled. This significantly extends blade life, ensures smooth operation, and prevents pulling.
  • Clean After Every Use: Brushing off hair after each use prevents buildup that can hinder performance and cause overheating.
  • Experiment with Taper Lever: The 5-stage taper lever is a powerful tool for blending. Practice on a small section of hair to get a feel for the different lengths before attempting a full haircut.

10. Warranty and Support

All VGR products come with a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and malfunctions under normal use.

If you encounter any issues with your VGR V-668 Hair Clipper, or if the item is damaged during shipping, please contact the seller directly for assistance. Ensure the item remains in its original condition when reporting damage.
