4. Setup Guide

4.1 Assembling the Microphone

  1. Attach the pop filter to the microphone if desired.
  2. Ensure the microphone is securely mounted on the desktop stand or a cantilever bracket using the provided mount adapter and threaded adapter if necessary.

4.2 Connecting to Your Device

The BOYA K5 supports both wired and wireless connections. It is driver-free, meaning no additional software installation is required.

4.2.1 Wired Connection (USB-C)

  1. Connect one end of the provided USB-C to USB-C/USB-A data cable to the USB-C port on the BOYA K5 microphone.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to an available USB-C or USB-A port on your computer (PC or Mac).
  3. The microphone will be automatically recognized by your operating system. Select "BOYA K5" as your input and output device in your system's sound settings and recording software.

4.2.2 Wireless Connection

  1. Plug the included receiver into an available USB-C or USB-A port on your computer (PC or Mac).
  2. Power on the BOYA K5 microphone. It will automatically pair with the receiver.
  3. Once paired, select "BOYA K5" as your input and output device in your system's sound settings and recording software.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Adjusting Microphone and Headphone Volume

  • Rotate the Microphone Volume Adjustment knob to increase or decrease the microphone's input sensitivity (gain).
  • Rotate the Headphone Volume Adjustment knob to control the monitoring volume through the 3.5mm headphone jack.

5.2 Toggling Mute and AI Noise Reduction (ENC)

  • Tap the Mute button to instantly mute or unmute the microphone. The LED indicator will change to show the mute status.
  • Long press the Mute button to activate or deactivate the AI Noise Reduction (ENC) feature. This helps eliminate environmental background noise.

5.3 Changing RGB Lighting Effects

  • Press the Lighting Effect Switching button to cycle through the available RGB lighting modes (e.g., monochrome static, dynamic RGB flow, breathing gradient).

5.4 Real-time Monitoring

  • Plug your headphones into the 3.5mm headphone jack on the microphone to monitor your audio in real-time without latency. Adjust the headphone volume using its dedicated knob.

5.5 Adjusting Volume Balance (Microphone vs. Computer Audio)

  • The microphone allows you to adjust the balance between your microphone's audio and the computer's playback audio. This is useful for mixing your voice with game audio or background music directly from the microphone.

6. Maintenance

No Sound Output/Input:

  • Adjust the microphone volume knob to an audible level.
  • If using wireless, ensure the receiver is plugged in and the microphone is powered on and paired.
Poor Audio Quality/Excessive Noise:
  • Ensure you are speaking directly into the front of the microphone, utilizing its cardioid pickup pattern.
  • Activate the AI Noise Reduction (ENC) feature by long-pressing the Mute button.
