6. Maintenance and Care

6.1. Cleaning

To keep your keyboard in optimal condition, regularly clean it using a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, you may use a keycap puller to remove keycaps and clean dust and debris from underneath. Use the provided dust cover when the keyboard is not in use to prevent dust accumulation.

6.2. Battery Care

Always charge the keyboard using a computer's USB interface and the provided Type-C cable. Avoid using fast charging plugs or adapters, as they can damage the internal battery and shorten its lifespan.

6.3. General Precautions

  • Avoid exposing the keyboard to liquids. Spills can cause short circuits and permanent damage.
  • Do not place the keyboard on heating pads or in excessively hot environments, as this can lead to deformation or chip burnout.
  • Handle with care to prevent physical damage.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Connectivity Issues

  • Keyboard not responding: Ensure the keyboard is charged. Check the mode switch to confirm the correct connection mode (Wired, 2.4G, or Bluetooth) is selected.
  • 2.4G connection unstable: Ensure the 2.4G receiver is securely plugged into a USB port and is within range of the keyboard.
  • Bluetooth pairing failure: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the keyboard is in pairing mode. Try unpairing and re-pairing the device.

7.2. Latency Concerns

The RS8 V2 offers different latency levels depending on the connection mode:

  • Wired: 2.71ms
  • 2.4G Wireless: 4.98ms
  • Bluetooth: 11.99ms

For the lowest latency experience, especially in competitive gaming, the wired connection is recommended.

7.3. Keycap or Switch Issues

  • Keycap wear: The original PBT injection keycaps are designed to resist greasy feeling and wear. If issues occur, ensure proper cleaning and handling.
  • Switch removal: When pulling out keycaps, it is normal for the shaft to come out together with the keycap, especially with PC material positioning plates due to their special softness. This does not affect the service life of the shaft body.

8. User Tips

  • Ergonomic Comfort: Utilize the double adjustable foot support to find the most comfortable typing angle for your wrist. The ergonomic design aims to prevent wrist strain.
  • Optimal Charging: Always charge your keyboard via a computer's USB port to ensure battery longevity and prevent potential damage from incompatible fast chargers.
  • Customization Potential: Explore the QMK-VIA software to fully customize your keybinds and lighting effects, tailoring the keyboard to your specific workflow or gaming style.
  • Sound Profile: The innovative Gasket structure and sound-dampening materials are designed to provide a purer, more consistent sound. Experiment with different switches to find your preferred acoustic profile.
