This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your KingMa monitor screen.

3. Setup

3.1. Attaching the Monitor

The KingMa monitor screens feature a magnetic attraction design for easy and secure assembly to your smartphone.

For PH01:

  1. Attach your smartphone to the flexible phone holder. The holder is extendable and compatible with most mobile phones with a width between 65-95mm.
  2. Align the PH01 monitor with the magnetic area on the phone holder. The strong magnetic suction will secure the monitor in place.

For PH02 Max:

The PH02 Max features MagSafe compatibility for direct magnetic attachment to MagSafe-enabled iPhones, ensuring a stable and accurate adsorption.

3.2. Wireless Connection (Real-time Mirroring)

The monitor connects wirelessly to your smartphone to display its screen in real-time.

  1. Power On: Ensure your KingMa monitor screen is powered on.
  2. Activate Hotspot: The display comes with a built-in hotspot.
  3. Connect Phone: On your smartphone, go to your WiFi settings and connect to the hotspot broadcasted by the KingMa monitor.
  4. Enable Screen Casting: Turn on the wireless screen casting function on your smartphone. This function may be named differently depending on your phone model (e.g., 'Screen Mirroring', 'Smart View', 'Cast', 'Wireless Display', 'Multi-screen interaction', 'Projection screen').
  5. Once connected, your phone's screen will be mirrored on the KingMa monitor, allowing you to use your rear camera for selfies and vlogging.

Compatibility Notes:

  • iOS Devices: Compatible with iOS 6 and above systems. Requires the 'Same Screen Function' (AirPlay Mirroring) for Apple iOS 6 above, iPhone 4S or above, iPad 2 or above.
  • Android Devices: Compatible with Android phones that have a screen casting function. Please note that some Android phones (e.g., Google Pixel series) may not support this function and therefore cannot be used with the monitor.

3.3. Cold-shoe Mount Extension (PH01)

The phone clip on the PH01 model comes with a cold-shoe port, allowing you to mount additional accessories such as LED lights or microphones.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Device Overview and Buttons

Common Buttons:

  • ON/OFF Button / Screen Mirroring Button: Powers the device on/off and adjusts screen direction.
  • Network Mode Switch Button: Switches between network modes.
  • Brightness Adjustment Button: Adjusts screen brightness.
  • USB-C Charging Port: For charging the device.

  • Mode Button: Short press to switch modes. Long press to switch between full screen and original scale display.
  • Shoot Button: Triggers photo capture or video recording.
  • Power Switch Machine / Screen Rotation Button: Powers on/off and rotates the screen.

4.2. Screen Mirroring Adjustment

If the mirrored image on the monitor appears upside down, you can easily correct it.

When connected to your phone, press the ON/OFF Button / Screen Mirroring Button (or the dedicated Screen Rotation Button on PH02 Max) to adjust the screen direction until the image is correctly oriented.

4.3. Brightness Adjustment

The monitor features a three-level brightness adjustment to adapt to different lighting conditions.

Press the Brightness Adjustment Button to cycle through the available brightness levels.

4.4. Using the Bluetooth Remote Control (PH01)

The PH01 kit includes a detachable Bluetooth remote control for long-distance shooting.

  1. Pairing: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone. Turn on the remote control and pair it with your phone via Bluetooth settings. No additional apps are needed.
  2. Shooting: Once paired, you can use the remote control to trigger your phone's camera shutter from up to 15 meters (33 feet) away.

4.5. Charging

The KingMa monitor screens are charged via a Type-C charging port.

  • Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the monitor's charging port.
  • Connect the other end of the cable to a 5V/0.5A charger, power bank, laptop, or car charger.
  • A charging indicator light will typically show the charging status.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and body of the monitor. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the monitor and its accessories in the provided soft velvet bag to protect them from dust and scratches.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently and store the device with a partial charge if not used for extended periods.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Monitor Not Connecting to Phone

  • Check WiFi Connection: Ensure your phone is connected to the monitor's hotspot.
  • Enable Screen Casting: Verify that your phone's wireless screen casting function is enabled. Refer to your phone's manual for specific instructions on enabling 'Screen Mirroring', 'Smart View', 'Cast', or similar features.
  • Compatibility: Confirm your phone supports screen casting. Some Android models (e.g., Google Pixel series) may not have this feature. iOS devices require iOS 6 or above and the 'Same Screen Function'.
  • Restart Devices: Try restarting both your smartphone and the KingMa monitor.

6.2. Screen Image is Upside Down or Incorrectly Oriented

  • Press the ON/OFF Button / Screen Mirroring Button (or the dedicated Screen Rotation Button on PH02 Max) on the monitor to flip the image direction.

6.3. Remote Control Not Working (PH01)

  • Battery: Check if the remote control's battery needs replacement.
  • Pairing: Ensure the remote control is properly paired with your smartphone via Bluetooth.
  • Distance: Make sure you are within the 15-meter operating range.
