3. Setup Guide
3.1 Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the device. The V8 Finder 2 is equipped with a 7.4V/4000mAh Li-ion battery and supports Type-C 18W fast charging.
- Connect the provided adapter to the Type-C port on the device.
- Plug the adapter into a power outlet.
- The charging indicator will illuminate. Allow the device to charge until the indicator shows a full charge.

3.2 Connecting to Satellite Dish
To begin signal detection, connect the device to your LNB (Low Noise Block) on the satellite dish.
- Ensure the V8 Finder 2 is powered off.
- Connect the coaxial cable from your LNB to the 'LNB IN' port on the top of the V8 Finder 2.
- If connecting to an external display, use an HDMI cable from 'HD OUT' or AV cables from 'AV OUT' to your TV/monitor.
- Power on the device using the power switch.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Navigating the User Interface
The V8 Finder 2 features an intuitive menu system. Use the directional buttons (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT) and the OK button to navigate and select options. The EXIT button returns to the previous screen.

4.2 Satellite Installation and Scanning
To find and install satellites:
- From the main menu, select 'Installation'.
- Choose a satellite from the preset list or add a new one.
- Adjust LNB Frequency, DiSEqC settings (1.0/1.1/1.2), and Transponder details as needed.
- Use the 'Scan' option to search for channels. The device supports Auto/Blind/Manual/NIT scan modes.
- Monitor the Signal Intensity and Quality bars for optimal dish alignment.

4.3 Spectrum Analyzer
The built-in spectrum analyzer helps visualize signal quality in real-time.
- From the main menu, select 'Spectrum'.
- Observe the graphical representation of signal strength across frequencies.
- Adjust the dish position to maximize signal peaks and minimize noise.
4.4 Auto Angle Calculation (AZ/EL)
This feature simplifies dish alignment by calculating the azimuth and elevation angles.
- From the main menu, select 'Calculate'.
- Enter your local longitude and latitude.
- The device will display the required Azimuth (AZ) and Elevation (EL) angles for the selected satellite.
4.5 Media Playback and USB Functions
The V8 Finder 2 supports media playback and USB connectivity.
- Connect a USB drive to the USB 2.0 port.
- From the main menu, select 'Media' to browse and play music, pictures, or movies.
- The USB port can also be used for firmware upgrades and data backup.
- With a compatible USB WiFi 2.4G adapter, the device can support online features like YouTube.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device.
- Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols, as they may damage the device.
- Keep the screen free from dust and smudges for clear visibility.
5.2 Battery Care
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- Charge the device regularly, even if not in use, to maintain battery health.
- Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
5.3 Firmware Updates
The V8 Finder 2 supports USB upgradable firmware. Check the official GTMEDIA website or support forum for the latest firmware versions and instructions.
- Download the firmware file to a USB drive.
- Connect the USB drive to the device.
- Navigate to 'Tools' -> 'USB Upgrade' in the system menu and follow the on-screen prompts.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 No Signal Detected
- Check LNB Connection: Ensure the coaxial cable is securely connected to the 'LNB IN' port and the LNB on the dish.
- LNB Short Protection: The device has LNB short protection. If a short circuit is detected, it will alert you. Check the cable for damage.
- Dish Alignment: Verify that the satellite dish is correctly aligned to the target satellite using the AZ/EL calculation and spectrum analyzer.
- Transponder Settings: Confirm that the transponder frequency, symbol rate, and polarity settings are correct for the desired satellite.
6.2 Device Not Powering On
- Battery Level: Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged. Connect the device to the power adapter.
- Power Switch: Verify the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
6.3 Screen Issues
- Brightness: Adjust screen brightness in the system settings if the display is too dim or bright.
- No Display: If the device powers on but the screen remains blank, try connecting to an external display via HDMI or AV Out to diagnose.
6.4 Factory Reset
If you encounter persistent software issues, a factory reset may resolve them. This will erase all user settings and installed satellites.
- Navigate to 'Tools' -> 'Factory Setting' in the system menu.
- Confirm the reset when prompted.
