Setup

1. Package Contents

Carefully unpack your Q120 light and check that all standard items are included:

2. Assembly

  1. Attach Reflector/Diffusion Dome: Align the reflector or diffusion dome with the front of the Q120 light and twist gently until it locks into place.
  2. Mounting: The Q120 can be mounted onto a light stand or other compatible support using its standard mounting point.
  3. Optional Power Handle: If using the Sidande 144Wh Power Handle Ultra, connect it to the EASY LINK interface on the Q120 light. Ensure a secure connection.

3. Power Supply

The Q120 light supports multiple power input options:

  • AC Power: Use the included charging cable and inbox adaptor to connect the light to a standard AC power outlet.
  • DC Power: Connect a compatible DC power source to the DC port. This port supports up to 150W.
  • EASY LINK Port: This proprietary interface supports up to 150W and is designed for use with Sidande power accessories like the Power Handle Ultra.
  • Type-C Port: This port supports up to 100W (100W+30W indicated, but max 100W output). Use a compatible USB-C power delivery source.

Note: Only EASY LINK and DC ports can reach 120W full power output. The Type-C port supports up to 100W.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off and Screen Control

To power on the device, press and hold the power button. The RGB screen will illuminate, displaying current settings.

Double-tap the on/off key to flip the screen orientation when the light is switched on, which can be useful for different mounting positions.

2. Adjusting Brightness and Color Temperature

The Q120 features a brightness adjustment range of 0-100% and a bi-color temperature range of 2700K-6500K. Use the control knobs or the APP to adjust these settings to your desired levels.

3. APP Control

The Q120 can be controlled remotely via a dedicated mobile application. This allows for convenient adjustment of settings and access to advanced features.

  1. Download the App: Search for the 'Sidande Lighting Applet' on your smartphone's app store.
  2. Connect: Follow the in-app instructions to connect your Q120 light. The app supports simultaneous control of multiple lights (up to six-light joint control).
  3. Adjust Settings: Use the app to control CCT (Color Correlated Temperature), HSI (Hue, Saturation, Intensity), and various lighting effects.

4. Special Effects (FX Mode)

The Q120 includes various built-in lighting effects to enhance your photography and videography. These can be accessed and adjusted via the device's screen or the mobile app.

Available effects include (but are not limited to): Flash, Lightning, TV, Candle, Fire, Fire 2, Bad Bulb 1, Bad Bulb 2, Bad Bulb 3.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the light. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the Q120 in its provided storage bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Heat Dissipation: The Q120 features intelligent heat dissipation. The fan automatically adjusts its speed based on the internal temperature to maintain stable high brightness output and protect the device. Ensure the fan vents are not obstructed during operation.

Troubleshooting

  • Light Not Turning On: Ensure the power cable is securely connected and the power source is active. If using a battery, check its charge level.
  • Inconsistent Brightness/Color: Verify that the power supply is sufficient for the desired output. Check for any obstructions to the fan or vents that might cause overheating and automatic power reduction.
  • APP Connection Issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and the Q120 light is within range. Restart both the app and the light if connection problems persist.
  • Projection Attachment Jamming: If using an optional projection attachment, ensure it is not overtightened. Overtightening can cause the heated metal to expand and jam the mechanism.
