3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The device requires one CR2 battery. Follow these steps to install the battery:

  1. Prepare a coin and a CR2 battery.
  2. Insert the coin into the groove of the instrument battery compartment cover.
  3. Rotate the cover counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment.
  4. Insert the CR2 battery into the battery compartment, ensuring the positive pole faces forward (towards the front of the device). If the battery is inserted incorrectly, the instrument will not power on.
  5. Cover the battery compartment and turn clockwise to tighten it. Press firmly to ensure the cover is securely closed and waterproof. If the cover is not tightened, the instrument may not start, and its waterproof integrity will be compromised.

4.3 Measurement Modes

The ARTBULL Laser Rangefinder offers 5 measurement modes. Press the Mode Button (short press) to cycle through the available modes:

  1. L Mode (Line Distance): Measures the linear distance between the rangefinder and the target.
  2. H Mode (Horizon Distance): Measures the horizontal distance between two points (A to C in the diagram).
  3. V Mode (Vertical Distance): Measures the vertical distance (height difference) between two points (A to B in the diagram).
  4. Golf Mode (Flagpole Locking): This mode prioritizes the nearest small object, eliminating peripheral interference to lock onto the flagpole for accurate ranging. Users can slowly move the equipment between different objects around the flagpole to ensure the laser recognizes the nearest object.
  5. Height Difference Mode: Measures the height difference between two points (A to B in the diagram).

  • Cleaning: Use the provided cleaning cloth to gently wipe the lenses and body of the rangefinder. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the rangefinder in its carrying case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: The device features intelligent power saving, automatically turning off after 10 seconds of no operation. Replace the CR2 battery when the battery indicator shows low power. Remove the battery if the device will not be used for an extended period.
  • Waterproof: The device is waterproof, but avoid submerging it in water for prolonged periods. Ensure the battery cover is securely tightened to maintain its waterproof integrity.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device does not power on:
    • Check if the CR2 battery is installed correctly (positive pole facing forward).
    • Ensure the battery has sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
    • Verify that the battery compartment cover is securely tightened.
  • Inaccurate measurements:
    • Ensure the lenses are clean and free from smudges or debris.
    • Adjust the eyepiece focus for a clear view of the target and display.
    • Confirm you are using the correct measurement mode for your application.
    • Avoid measuring through glass or other reflective surfaces that can interfere with laser accuracy.
  • Display is dim or flickering:
    • Replace the battery.
    • Ensure the device is not exposed to extreme temperatures.
