7. Maintenance

  • Battery Management: Regularly check battery levels, especially before extended deployments. Replace all 8 AA batteries simultaneously to ensure consistent power. If using an external adapter, ensure a stable power source.
  • Micro SD Card: Format the Micro SD card periodically (e.g., monthly) to prevent data corruption and ensure optimal recording performance. Back up important files before formatting.
  • Cleaning: Gently clean the camera lens and infrared sensors with a soft, lint-free cloth. For the camera body, use a damp cloth to wipe away dirt and debris. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Environmental Protection: Although the camera is IP66 waterproof, avoid submerging it in water. Ensure all latches and covers are securely closed to maintain its waterproof integrity.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries and the Micro SD card, and store the camera in a cool, dry place.

8. Troubleshooting

Camera not powering on:
Check if the batteries are inserted correctly and fully charged. Ensure the external power adapter (if used) is properly connected and functional. Try a fresh set of batteries.
No photos/videos are being recorded:
Verify that a Micro SD card is inserted and has sufficient free space. Check if the card is formatted correctly. Ensure the camera is in the correct operating mode (e.g., Photo, Video, or Photo+Video). Adjust the PIR sensitivity and detection range settings. Make sure the camera is not in 'OFF' mode.
Poor image/video quality:
Clean the camera lens and infrared sensors. Ensure the camera is stable and not vibrating. Check the resolution settings in the camera menu or APP. For night vision, ensure there are no obstructions blocking the infrared LEDs.
APP connectivity issues:
Ensure the camera has a strong 4G signal in its location. Check your smartphone's internet connection. Restart both the camera and the APP. Verify that the APP is updated to the latest version.
Camera triggers too often or not enough:
Adjust the PIR sensitivity setting (Near/Middle/Far) in the camera menu or APP. Consider the placement of the camera to avoid false triggers from moving branches or direct sunlight.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal battery life, especially in cold weather, consider using high-quality lithium AA batteries.
  • When setting up, test the camera's detection range and angle by walking in front of it to ensure it captures the desired area effectively.
  • Utilize the time-lapse feature for long-term monitoring of slow-moving events, such as plant growth or construction progress.
  • Regularly check the camera's position and lens for spiderwebs or debris that might interfere with detection or image quality.
  • Secure the camera properly to prevent theft or damage from animals.
