Operating Instructions
1. Automatic Operation
The dashcam is designed for convenience. It will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle starts, and power off when the vehicle is turned off.
2. Loop Recording
This feature ensures continuous recording. When the memory card reaches its full capacity, the dashcam will automatically overwrite the oldest unprotected video files with new recordings. Files protected by the G-Sensor or Parking Monitor will not be overwritten.
3. G-Sensor (Emergency Recording)
The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts, rapid acceleration, or emergency braking. When such an event occurs, the dashcam automatically locks the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten during loop recording. This ensures critical footage is preserved.
4. Parking Monitor (Requires Hardwire Kit)
For continuous surveillance when your vehicle is parked, the 24-hour parking monitor feature can be activated. This requires an optional hardwire kit (Buck Line) to be installed, connecting the dashcam directly to your car's power supply. If an impact is detected while parked, the dashcam will automatically record.
5. Night Vision & WDR
The Kocam Dash Cam K05 is equipped with advanced night vision capabilities and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology. This ensures clear and detailed recordings even in low-light conditions or challenging lighting environments by balancing exposure.

6. Voice Prompts
The dashcam provides clear voice prompts (English only) to inform you of its operational status, such as when recording starts, an emergency recording is triggered, or a photo is successfully taken.

7. GPS Tracking
If your dashcam is equipped with a GPS module, it will accurately log your vehicle's location, speed, latitude, longitude, and route. This data can be reviewed using the mobile app or a compatible GPS player on your computer. The GPS icon on the screen will change from red to green once a successful satellite connection is established.

Maintenance
1. Memory Card Care
- Formatting: To ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption, it is recommended to format your Micro SD card regularly (e.g., once a month) using the dashcam's settings menu.
- Card Type: Always use a high-quality Class 10 or higher Micro SD card with a capacity between 16GB and 256GB. Using lower quality or slower cards can lead to recording errors and device malfunction.
2. Power Supply
- The dashcam is designed to operate with a 12V power supply. Connecting it directly to a 24V power supply without a suitable 24V to 12V converter (Buck Line) will damage the motherboard.
- Always use the original car charger or a compatible power source that meets the specified voltage requirements.
3. Cleaning
- Gently wipe the dashcam lens and body with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the device's surface or lens.
4. Firmware Updates
Periodically check the manufacturer's official website or the companion mobile app for any available firmware updates. Keeping your dashcam's firmware up-to-date can improve performance, add new features, and resolve potential issues.
Troubleshooting
- Dashcam not turning on:
- Check the power connection to the car's 12V outlet.
- Ensure the car charger is securely plugged in and functioning.
- Verify that your vehicle's 12V power outlet is active. - Recording issues (e.g., stops recording, corrupted files):
- Ensure you are using a high-quality Class 10 or higher Micro SD card.
- Format the memory card regularly (e.g., monthly) through the dashcam's settings.
- If issues persist, try a different, new, high-quality memory card. - App connection problems (Wi-Fi):
- Confirm that Wi-Fi is enabled on both the dashcam and your smartphone.
- Ensure your phone is connected to the dashcam's specific Wi-Fi network.
- Double-check the Wi-Fi password.
- Restart both the dashcam and your smartphone, then try connecting again.
- Grant all necessary permissions to the app on your phone. - GPS not tracking:
- Ensure the external GPS module (if applicable) is securely connected.
- Allow a few minutes for the GPS module to acquire a satellite signal. The GPS icon will change from red to green upon successful positioning.
- Ensure the dashcam and GPS module have a clear view of the sky, free from obstructions. - 24H Parking Monitor not working:
- Verify that the optional hardwire kit (Buck Line) is correctly installed and connected to a constant power source in your vehicle.
- Ensure the parking monitor feature is enabled in the dashcam's settings. - Voice prompts not heard:
- Check the volume settings on the dashcam or through the mobile app.
- Ensure the dashcam's speaker is not obstructed.

User Tips
- Memory Card Selection: Always invest in a high-quality, branded Class 10 or higher Micro SD card (16GB-256GB) for reliable performance. Generic or low-speed cards are a common cause of recording issues.
- Power Compatibility: Be mindful of your vehicle's power system. If it's 24V, you absolutely need a 24V to 12V converter (Buck Line) to prevent irreversible damage to your dashcam.
- App Familiarity: Take some time to explore all features within the mobile app. It's your primary interface for reviewing footage, adjusting settings, and utilizing advanced functions like GPS tracking playback.
- GPS Signal Acquisition: When using the GPS feature, especially after initial setup or if the dashcam has been off for a while, allow a few minutes for the GPS module to acquire a stable satellite signal. The GPS icon will turn green when ready.
- Optimal Placement: Mount the dashcam in a location that provides a clear, unobstructed view of the road ahead and does not interfere with your driving visibility.
