1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your ZOYI Digital Multimeter models ZT98, ZT100, ZT101, and ZT102. These multimeters are versatile tools designed for measuring various electrical parameters, including AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, frequency, diode, and continuity. The ZT102 model also includes temperature measurement. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation and keep it for future reference to ensure proper usage and prolong the life of your device.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: To avoid possible electric shock or personal injury, and to avoid possible damage to the Multimeter or to the equipment under test, follow these safety rules:
- Always ensure the multimeter is set to the correct function and range before connecting test leads to a circuit.
- Never apply voltage or current to the meter that exceeds the specified maximum limits.
- Use extreme caution when working with voltages above 30V AC RMS, 42V peak, or 60V DC. These voltages pose a shock hazard.
- Always disconnect the test leads from the circuit before changing functions or ranges.
- Do not use the meter if it is damaged or if the test leads are damaged. Inspect the meter and test leads before use.
- Ensure the battery cover is closed and secured before operating the meter.
- Do not operate the meter around explosive gas, vapor, or dust.
- The ZOYI multimeters are rated for 600V CAT III and 1000V CAT II. Adhere to these safety categories.

5.2 Connecting Test Leads
- Insert the black test lead into the 'COM' jack.
- For most measurements (voltage, resistance, frequency, diode, continuity), insert the red test lead into the 'VΩHz+' jack.
- For current measurements, insert the red test lead into the 'mA/uA' jack for small currents or the '10A' jack for large currents (if applicable to your model).
6. Operating Instructions
Always ensure the test leads are correctly connected and the rotary dial is set to the appropriate function before making any measurements.
6.1 AC Voltage Measurement
- Turn the rotary dial to the 'V~' (AC Voltage) position.
- Connect the test leads across the circuit or component you wish to measure.
- Read the AC voltage value on the display.

6.2 DC Voltage Measurement
- Turn the rotary dial to the 'V-' (DC Voltage) position.
- Connect the red test lead to the positive (+) side and the black test lead to the negative (-) side of the DC source.
- Read the DC voltage value on the display.

8. Maintenance
8.1 Cleaning
- Wipe the case with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents.
- Clean the terminals with a cotton swab and detergent if they become dirty.
8.2 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries immediately to ensure accurate readings.
- Turn off the multimeter and disconnect all test leads.
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the meter.
- Remove the old batteries and insert new 1.5V AAA batteries, observing correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
8.3 Storage
If the meter is not to be used for a long period, remove the batteries to prevent battery leakage and damage to the meter. Store the meter in a dry, cool environment.
9. Troubleshooting
- No display or dim display: Check battery installation and replace batteries if necessary.
- Incorrect readings: Ensure the correct function and range are selected. Check test lead connections and ensure they are not damaged. Verify the circuit is de-energized for resistance measurements.
- 'OL' (Overload) displayed: The measured value exceeds the selected range. Switch to a higher range or ensure the input is within the meter's capabilities.
10. User Tips
- Always double-check your function and range selection before connecting to a circuit to prevent damage to the multimeter or the circuit under test.
- For intermittent use, consider removing batteries when storing the multimeter for extended periods to prevent corrosion.
- Utilize the backlight feature in dimly lit environments for better readability of the display.
