5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Power On/Off
To power on the walkie talkie, rotate the 'Switch' knob clockwise until you hear a click and a voice prompt. To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks off.
5.2. Channel Selection
The MT-N1 has 16 available channels. To change channels:
- Short Press 'CH+': Moves to the next higher channel.
- Short Press 'CH-': Moves to the next lower channel.
5.3. Transmitting and Receiving (PTT)
To transmit, press and hold the large 'PTT' button on the front of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and return to receive mode.
5.4. VOX Function (Hands-Free Operation)
The MT-N1 supports VOX (Voice Operated Exchange) for hands-free communication. When VOX is enabled, the radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice, without needing to press the PTT button. This is particularly useful when your hands are occupied.

VOX function allows hands-free communication.
Note: VOX functionality and its activation/deactivation are typically configured via PC programming software. Refer to the 'Programming Software' section for more details.
5.5. Dual PTT Function
The MT-N1 features a dual PTT function, which can offer more flexible communication options depending on its configuration. This feature is often programmable to allow for different transmission modes or to switch between two distinct PTT functions.
5.6. Monitor Function
To temporarily disable the squelch and listen to weak signals on the current channel, long press the 'CH+' button.
5.7. Scan Function
To activate the channel scan feature, long press the 'CH-' button. The radio will scan through active channels. Press 'CH-' again to stop scanning.
5.8. One-Key Frequency Copy
The MT-N1 supports a one-key frequency copy function to easily pair two radios. Follow these steps:
- Set the receiving walkie talkie (the one to be copied to) to Channel 2.
- Power off the receiving walkie talkie.
- Hold down both the PTT button and the 'CH+' button on the receiving walkie talkie while powering it on. This puts it into pairing mode.
- Repeat the same operation for the transmitting walkie talkie (the one to copy from).
- Once the red transmission light on the receiving walkie talkie turns green, the copying process is complete.
- Power off both walkie talkies and restart them to exit pairing mode. They should now be on the same channel.

6. Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the radio's exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Battery Care: Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge it regularly to prolong its lifespan. Store the radio and battery in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
- Avoid Extreme Conditions: Do not expose the radio to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, dust, or moisture. While durable, it is not waterproof/water-resistant.
- Antenna: The integrated antenna is designed to be robust. Avoid bending or twisting it excessively.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the battery is correctly installed and fully charged. Check if the power knob is turned on.
- Cannot Transmit or Receive: Verify that both radios are on the same channel. Check if the battery is low. Ensure the PTT button is fully pressed when transmitting.
- Poor Audio Quality: Check the volume level. Ensure there are no obstructions between the radios. Move to an open area if possible.
- Short Range: Obstacles like buildings and terrain can reduce range. Ensure you are within the specified range for your environment (e.g., 0-3KM in open areas, 0-1.2KM in city areas, 1-20 floors in buildings).

Signal penetration and range vary by environment.
