3. Getting Started

Screw on the Antenna

Ensure the antenna is securely screwed onto the top of the radio.

1. Attach the Battery to the Device

Align the battery with the back of the radio and slide it into place until it clicks securely.

2. Attach the Radio Belt Clip as Needed

If desired, attach the belt clip to the back of the radio for easy carrying.

3. Charge the Battery

Before initial use, fully charge the battery.

Charging

1. Connect the power cable to the adapter.
2. Plug the AC connector of the adapter into an AC outlet.
3. Connect the DC connector of the adapter to the DC jack on the back of the charger.
4. Place the device with the battery, or the battery alone, into the charger.
5. Ensure the battery makes proper contact with the charging terminals. The charging process begins when the red LED illuminates.
6. The green LED will illuminate after approximately 4 hours of charging, indicating a full battery. At this point, remove the device or battery from the charging station.

4. Usage

Quick Start

1. Charge the battery.
2. Screw on the antenna.
3. Turn on the device by rotating button [4]. This selector also controls the volume.
4. Button [10] allows switching between transceiver and FM mode.
5. Frequencies can be tuned using the arrow keys, automatic scanning (by long-pressing the asterisk on the keypad), or by directly entering the frequency on the numeric keypad.
6. Transmit by pressing the PTT button (releasing the button allows reception).
7. Switch between channels A and B using the EXIT/AB button on the keypad.
8. Long-pressing the '#' button locks and unlocks the keypad.

Turning the Device On / Off

Rotate button [4] clockwise. You will hear a beep and a voice prompt indicating that the device is turned on.

Volume Adjustment

Rotate button [4] clockwise to increase the volume. Rotate it counter-clockwise to decrease the volume.

Frequency Tuning

Frequencies can be tuned using the arrow keys, automatic scanning (by long-pressing the asterisk on the keypad), or by directly entering the frequency on the numeric keypad.

Transmission - Transmit

Transmit by pressing the PTT A and PTT B buttons (releasing the button allows reception).

For maximum clarity of transmitted sound, speak into the microphone from a distance of 10-15cm.

Reception

Reception is automatic after turning on the device. If someone calls you via the radio, you will hear them immediately on your device.

5. Menu and Device Settings

Press the MENU button to enter the menu. The MENU button also serves to confirm and enter individual setting categories. The EXIT button, conversely, returns one step back or completely exits the menu. Navigation within the menu is possible using the arrow keys. You can also directly access individual settings by pressing a number key – for example, pressing button 5 will take you to the WN item (written on this key).

SQL (Squelch)

This function mutes the device's speaker in the absence of a received signal. With the correct level setting, you will only hear sound when a signal is received, significantly reducing battery consumption. It is recommended to use setting level 5.

VOX Function

For this function, there is no need to press the PTT button to transmit your message. Transmission is automatically activated by voice. When you finish your message, transmission will automatically end, and the device will automatically receive incoming signals. Ensure you have set the appropriate VOX sensitivity level for easy transmission.

Wideband or Narrowband Selection (W/N)

In areas with many RF signals, you should use narrowband to prevent interference with other channels.

TOT - Transmit Timeout Timer

This function automatically controls the transmission time each time the PTT button on the device is pressed.

This function is very useful for protection against excessive overheating of the transistors in the device. The device will automatically stop transmitting after the set time expires.

CTCSS/DCS

In some cases, you may want to set up communication only within a closed group on a specific frequency or channel. For such cases, use CTCSS or DCS encoding for reception.

The gate will open only if the device receives a frequency with CTCSS or DCS encoding at the same level as you previously set. If the incoming signal is slightly different from what you set on the devices, the gate will not open, and the incoming signal will not be heard.

Note: Use CTCSS or DCS encoding only for regular communication; confidential communication is not guaranteed.

DTMFST - DTMF Tone or Transmit Tone

First, you should set PTT-ID to BOT/EOT/BOTH.

• OFF: In the transmit channel, you will not hear the DTMF tone when you press the button to transmit the code, or when the code is sent automatically.
• DT-ST: In the transmit channel, you can hear the DTMF tone if you press the button to transmit the code.
• ANI-ST: In the transmit channel, you can hear the DTMF tone if the code is sent automatically.
• DT-ANI: In the transmit channel, you can hear the DTMF tone if you press the button to transmit the code or if the code is sent automatically.

SC-REV - Scan Resume Method

The device allows you to scan memory channels across all bands or parts thereof. If the device detects communication, it will automatically stop scanning.

Note:

• TO: Scanning will stop when a signal is detected. Scanning will stop on each channel or active frequency for a certain period, after which scanning will automatically resume.
• CO: Scanning will automatically stop and remain on this frequency or channel until the signal is lost.
• SE: Scanning will automatically stop and remain on this frequency or channel upon detection of an active signal.

PTT-ID

Press PTT or release the PTT button to transmit a signal code.

This function allows you to identify the caller.

• OFF: Will not transmit until you hold the PTT button.
• BOT: Transmit code upon pressing the PTT button (code can only be set with PC software).
• EOT: Transmit code upon releasing the PTT button.
• BOTH: Transmit code upon pressing or releasing the PTT button.

BCL - Busy Channel Lockout

The BCLO feature prevents the device from activating if the signal is not strong enough to break the squelch. On a frequency or channel where different CTCSS or DCS encoding is used, BCLO can be active, preventing you from interfering with their communication.

SFT-D - Frequency Shift Direction

OFFSET is the difference between the received frequency and the frequency you transmit to access other devices. Set OFFSET according to the repeater's OFFSET you wish to communicate with.

OFFSET - Frequency Offset

When communicating in repeater mode, the frequency shift direction should be timed according to the transmit shift so that the transmit frequency is higher or lower than the receive frequency.

Example: If we want to communicate through a device that has an input frequency of 145.000 MHz and an output frequency of 145.600 MHz, we must set the OFFSET for the previous part to 0600 and the shift direction to [-]. Thus, transmission will always be on 145.600 MHz, and if you press the PTT button to transmit a signal, the frequency will automatically shift to 145.000 MHz.

STE - Squelch Tail Elimination

This function is used to activate or deactivate the end-of-transmission squelch tail of the device. This squelch tail is used only in communication through the device and not in communication with a repeater, where it must be deactivated.
