3. Product Overview
The HC17 speaker features an oval design with rubberized buttons and an integrated vertical hook buckle (carabiner) for portability.
3.1 Controls and Ports
- Power Button: On/Off, Play/Pause.
- Volume Up (+): Increase volume, Next track (long press).
- Volume Down (-): Decrease volume, Previous track (long press).
- Mode (M) Button: Switch between Bluetooth, FM Radio, TF Card, and USB Disk modes.
- Micro USB Port: For charging the speaker.

4. Setup
4.1 Charging the Speaker
Before first use, fully charge the speaker. Connect the provided charging cable to the Micro USB port on the speaker and the other end to a USB power adapter (DC 5V) or a computer's USB port. The charging indicator light will show the charging status and turn off when fully charged (approximately 2 hours).
4.2 Power On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the Power button until you hear an audible prompt and the indicator light turns on.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button until you hear an audible prompt and the indicator light turns off.
4.3 Bluetooth Pairing
- Ensure the speaker is powered on and in Bluetooth mode (indicated by a flashing blue light). If not, press the 'M' button to switch to Bluetooth mode.
- On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "HOCO HC17" from the list of devices.
- Once paired, you will hear a confirmation tone, and the blue indicator light will remain solid.
4.4 TWS Interconnection (True Wireless Stereo)
To connect two HC17 speakers for stereo sound:
- Ensure both HC17 speakers are powered on and in Bluetooth pairing mode (flashing blue light).
- On one of the speakers (this will be the primary speaker), double-press the Power button. The speakers will attempt to connect to each other.
- Once connected, you will hear a confirmation tone, and the primary speaker's light will flash, while the secondary speaker's light will be solid.
- Now, pair your mobile device with the primary speaker as described in section 4.3. Both speakers will play audio in stereo.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Music Playback
- Play/Pause: Short press the Power button.
- Volume Up: Short press the '+' button.
- Volume Down: Short press the '-' button.
- Next Track: Long press the '+' button.
- Previous Track: Long press the '-' button.
5.2 Call Handling
When connected via Bluetooth to a smartphone:
- Answer Call: Short press the Power button.
- End Call: Short press the Power button during a call.
- Reject Call: Long press the Power button.

5.3 Mode Switching
Press the 'M' button to cycle through available modes:
- Bluetooth Mode: For wireless audio streaming.
- FM Radio Mode:
- In FM mode, short press the Power button to auto-scan and save available radio stations.
- Use the '+' and '-' buttons to switch between saved stations.
- TF Card Mode: Insert a microSD card with audio files. The speaker will automatically switch to TF card mode and begin playback.
- USB Disk Mode: Insert a USB flash drive with audio files into the USB-A port. The speaker will automatically switch to USB disk mode and begin playback.
6. Maintenance
- Keep the speaker dry. Do not expose it to extreme temperatures or humidity.
- Clean the speaker with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Avoid dropping or subjecting the speaker to strong impacts.
- When not in use for extended periods, charge the speaker at least once every three months to preserve battery life.
7. Troubleshooting
- Speaker does not turn on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and try again.
- Cannot pair with Bluetooth device: Make sure the speaker is in Bluetooth pairing mode (flashing blue light). Ensure your device's Bluetooth is enabled and within range. Try restarting both the speaker and your device.
- No sound: Check the volume level on both the speaker and your connected device. Ensure the speaker is correctly paired or the correct playback mode is selected.
- Poor FM radio reception: Try repositioning the speaker to improve signal reception.
- TWS connection issues: Ensure both speakers are fully charged and within close proximity. Repeat the TWS pairing steps carefully.
