1. Introduction

The GLEDOPTO ZigBee 3.0 LED Controller Pro is a versatile 5-in-1 smart LED controller designed for various LED strip lighting applications. It supports RGBCCT, RGBW, RGB, CCT, and Dimmer modes, offering extensive control over color, brightness, and color temperature. This controller is compatible with ZigBee gateways, Amazon Alexa, and Smart Life platforms, providing convenient smart home integration. With a total output current of 15A Max and support for DC 12-48V, it is suitable for controlling longer LED strips and various LED fixtures.

2. Important Safety Information

  • WARNING: To maintain the smoothness of maximum brightness, all lamp beads will not reach maximum brightness simultaneously. For example, 100% warm white + 0% cool white, or 50% warm white + 50% cool white. It is not 100% warm white + 100% cool white.
  • WARNING: ZigBee devices (Zigbee/Plus/Pro version Products) require a compatible ZigBee gateway for full functionality.
  • WARNING: If you do not have a ZigBee gateway, you can use a GLEDOPTO 2.4G RF remote control or wall switch to operate Plus/Pro Version Products.
  • WARNING: This device is only compatible with the GLEDOPTO 2.4G RF remote control and cannot be used with other remote controls.
  • CAUTION: For DC port connections, do not exceed 3A, otherwise the controller may be damaged.
  • Strip lights exceeding 15 meters may experience insufficient voltage and brightness at the end due to voltage drop.

3. Setup

3.1. Wiring the Controller

The controller features a quick connect port design for easy and convenient wiring.

  1. Open the connector upwards.
  2. Insert the stripped wire into the port.
  3. Press down the connector to secure the wire.

3.2. Connecting to a Gateway or Remote

For smart control, connect the GLEDOPTO ZigBee 3.0 LED Controller Pro to a compatible ZigBee gateway (e.g., SmartThings, Philips Hue, Amazon Echo Plus). Follow your gateway's instructions for adding new ZigBee devices. Alternatively, you can pair it with a GLEDOPTO 2.4G RF remote control or wall switch for direct control without a gateway.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Key Functions Overview

The controller features several buttons for direct control:

  • Reset Button: Short press to switch the frequency. Long press for 5 seconds to reset the controller.
  • OPT Button: Short press to switch the current device function (5-in-1 modes). Long press for more than 5 seconds for power-on status settings.
  • Push Button: Short press for Power On/Off. Long press to adjust brightness (assuming: long press increases brightness, release and long press again decreases brightness).
  • Indicator Light: Different color indicators correspond to different functions/modes.

4.2. 5-in-1 Mode Switching

The controller supports five modes: RGBCCT, RGBW, RGB, CCT, and Dimmer. The indicator light will change color to show the active mode. To switch modes:

  1. Short press the "OPT" button once.
  2. The indicator light will change to a color corresponding to the next mode.
  3. Repeat until you reach your desired mode.

4.3. Power-on Status Settings

You can configure the controller's behavior when power is restored:

  1. Long press the "OPT" button for more than 5 seconds.
  2. The indicator will flash in light blue and then turn off for 4 seconds to confirm the setting.
  3. If the indicator flashes 3 times in light blue, the power-on status is set to 'light on'.
  4. If the indicator flashes 4 times in light blue, the power-on status is set to 'light off'.

4.4. Selectable Frequency

The device frequency can be adjusted to match different power supplies and reduce noise. Available frequencies are 600Hz, 800Hz, 1000Hz, 2000Hz, 4000Hz, and 8000Hz, with a default of 1000Hz.

  1. Short press the "Reset" key.
  2. The frequency will switch to the next one in the sequence.
  3. The indicator will flash white and then turn off for 2 seconds to confirm the change.

4.5. Color and Brightness Control

Control color and brightness via the connected ZigBee gateway app or the GLEDOPTO 2.4G RF remote/wall switch.

5. Maintenance

The GLEDOPTO ZigBee 3.0 LED Controller Pro requires minimal maintenance. Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents. Ensure the device is not exposed to excessive moisture or extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Lights not reaching full brightness: Ensure that the total current does not exceed 15A and individual channel current does not exceed 12A. Remember that warm white and cool white channels do not operate at 100% simultaneously to maintain smoothness.
  • Controller not responding to smart home app: Verify that the controller is properly paired with a compatible ZigBee gateway. Check the gateway's network status and the controller's proximity to the gateway.
  • Controller not responding to remote/wall switch: Ensure the remote/wall switch is a GLEDOPTO 2.4G RF model and is properly paired with the controller.
  • Flickering or unstable light: Try adjusting the frequency setting using the "Reset" button to match your power supply. Ensure all wiring connections are secure.
  • No power to LED strip: Check the input voltage (DC 12-48V) and ensure the DC port connection does not exceed 3A. Verify all power connections.
  • Inconsistent brightness on long LED strips: For strips exceeding 15 meters, voltage drop may occur. Consider using power injection or shorter strip segments.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal performance and compatibility, ensure your ZigBee gateway firmware is up to date.
  • When planning your LED strip installation, consider the total current draw to avoid overloading the controller and ensure consistent brightness.
  • If experiencing connectivity issues, try resetting the controller and re-pairing it with your gateway or remote.
  • Experiment with different frequency settings if you notice any flickering or noise with your power supply.
