2. Setup and First Use

2.1 Choose Your Eartips

Select the eartips that provide the most comfortable and secure fit for your ears. Medium eartips are recommended as they fit most people. A proper seal is crucial for optimal sound quality and noise cancellation.

2.2 How to Wear

  1. Put on the earbuds and gently rotate and adjust them to fit comfortably and securely in your ears.
  2. Ensure the microphone is pointing towards your mouth for optimal call clarity.
  3. Improper wear may affect call quality and audio performance.

2.3 First-Time Connection (Pairing)

  1. Pick up both earbuds from the charging case. Remove any isolation films (stickers) from the earbuds' charging contacts.
  2. Place both earbuds back into the charging case and close the lid. This step activates the earbuds.
  3. Open the charging case lid again and pick up both earbuds.
  4. On your smartphone, open Bluetooth settings, search for "QCY MeloBuds N50" in the device list, and tap to connect.

2.4 Multi-Point Connection

The QCY Melobuds N50 support connecting to two devices simultaneously.

  1. Ensure earbuds are powered on and in pairing mode. Connect them to Device A.
  2. After connecting to Device A, turn off Bluetooth on Device A. The earbuds will re-enter pairing mode.
  3. On Device B, open Bluetooth settings, search for "QCY MeloBuds N50", and tap to connect.
  4. On Device A, turn on Bluetooth and tap the previously paired "QCY MeloBuds N50" to complete the multipoint connection. The earbuds are now connected to both devices.

2.5 Factory Reset

If you encounter connection issues, you can perform a factory reset:

  1. Ensure both earbuds are outside the charging case and disconnected from all devices.
  2. Tap both earbuds' touch panels 5 times simultaneously. The earbud LEDs will blink white 5 times, then stop, indicating the reset is complete.
  3. After resetting, follow the "First-Time Connection" steps to pair the earbuds with your device again.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Open the charging case lid and pick up the earbuds. Alternatively, if earbuds are outside the case, touch and hold the touch panels for approximately 2 seconds.
  • Power Off: Place the earbuds back into the charging case and close the lid.

3.2 Customizable Touch Controls

The QCY Melobuds N50 feature intuitive touch controls on each earbud:

  • Answer/End Call: Double touch either earbud's touch panel.
  • Reject Call: Touch and hold either earbud's touch panel for approximately 1.5 seconds.
  • Play/Pause Music: Double touch either earbud's touch panel.
  • Next Track: Triple touch the right earbud's touch panel.
  • Previous Track: Touch and hold the left earbud's touch panel for 2 seconds.
  • Activate Voice Assistant: Quadruple touch either earbud's touch panel.
  • Low Latency Mode: Touch and hold the left earbud's touch panel.
  • Switch ANC Modes (ANC On / ANC Off / Transparent Mode): Touch and hold the right earbud's touch panel to cycle through modes.

3.3 Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

The Melobuds N50 feature adaptive ANC technology that detects external noises and automatically adjusts the noise cancelling level for your surroundings, achieving up to 97% noise reduction (-45dB).

4. Charging

4.1 Earbuds Charging

Place the earbuds into the charging case. The earbud LEDs will glow solid red while charging and turn white for 10 seconds when fully charged before turning off.

4.2 Charging Case Charging

Connect the charging case to a power source using the provided Type-C charging cable. The LED on the case will blink white while charging and turn solid white when fully charged.

4.3 Battery Life and Indicators

The QCY Melobuds N50 offer up to 28 hours of total playtime with the charging case. A quick 10-minute fast charge provides 2 hours of playback.

  • Single Charge Playback: 6 hours (ANC Off), 4 hours (ANC On)
  • Charging Case Power Indicator:
    • If the case has sufficient power, the LED will turn white for 4 seconds when earbuds are placed in.
    • If the case's power is low, the LED will blink white for 4 seconds when earbuds are placed in.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

  • Do not use oil or other volatile liquids to clean the product.
  • Gently wipe the earbuds and charging case with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Ensure charging contacts are clean and free of debris.

5.2 Storage

  • If the earbuds are not used for an extended period (more than 2 weeks), please recharge them to maintain battery health.
  • Do not expose the product to extremely low (below 0°C) or high (above 45°C) temperatures.
  • Store the earbuds and charging case in a cool, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting (FAQ)

Q: What should I do if the headset received is unable to turn on?

A: Confirm that the charging case has power left (press the button on the case and check if at least one LED is illuminated). If the charging case is powered off, please put the earphones in the charge case and charge for 1 hour. (Before charging, please remove the stickers on new earphones). Connect the case with your included USB cable and plug it into a USB power source.

Q: What should I do if sound comes from only one earphone?

A: Put both earphones back into the charging case and close the cover, then take them out again to check whether both ears have sound. If only one earphone still has sound, please restore the factory settings for both earphones.

Q: How to solve the problem that the mobile phone prompts that it cannot connect?

A: Delete the pairing record on the mobile phone, and then search for pairing and connect again.

Q: How to solve the problem that there is no sound when listening to music/calling?

A: On Android phones, there is a settings icon on the right side of the Bluetooth connection name. Click to enter, turn off the mobile phone audio and media audio, and then turn them on again. If there is still no sound, please re-pair the earphones with the mobile phone.

Q: Why is there a delay in video/games?

A: Affected by factors such as the use environment, network, and mobile phone Codec, there will be different degrees of delay when the mobile phone transmits audio data to the earphone.

Q: How to solve the problem of stuck/intermittent sound?

A: If there are a lot of Wi-Fi, 5G/4G signals, high-power electrical appliances around, it may cause stuck and intermittent sound. Please change the environment or re-pairing can solve the problem.
