6. Setup

6.1 Charging the Multimeter

The ANENG 615 Multimeter is equipped with a built-in rechargeable lithium battery. To charge the device:

  1. Locate the Type-C charging port on the side of the multimeter (refer to Figure 6.1).
  2. Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the multimeter and a suitable USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, computer USB port).
  3. The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging.
  4. Once fully charged, disconnect the charging cable.

6.2 Connecting Test Leads

To prepare for measurements, connect the test leads:

  1. Insert the red test lead into the "INPUT" positive input jack (9).
  2. Insert the black test lead into the "COM" negative input jack (8).
  3. For current measurements (up to 10A), insert the red test lead into the "10A" positive input jack (7).
  4. Ensure a tight engagement with the multimeter jacks to prevent accidental disconnection.

6.3 Powering On/Off

To power on the multimeter, press and hold the power button (3) for 2 seconds. To power off, press and hold the same button for 2 seconds.

7. Operating Instructions

The ANENG 615 Multimeter operates primarily in auto-range mode, simplifying measurements. Use the Function Switch Key (5) and the Hold button (6) for specific operations.

7.1 General Measurement (Auto Range)

When powered on, the multimeter defaults to auto-range mode, automatically detecting and measuring common electrical parameters like voltage, resistance, and continuity. The display will show "Auto".

7.2 Specific Measurement Modes

Press the SEL (Function Switch Key) to cycle through different measurement modes if the auto-range does not select the desired function or for specific tests.

7.3 Data Hold Function

To hold the current measured value on the display, short press the "Hold" button (6). Press it again to release the hold function.

7.4 Flashlight Operation

To turn on the back flashlight, long press the "Hold" button (6). Long press again to turn it off. This is useful for illuminating dark work areas.
