GTMEDIA V7 Pro DVB-S2 S2X T2 FHD Set Top Box User Manual

Your guide to setting up and operating your GTMEDIA V7 Pro receiver.

1. Introduction

The GTMEDIA V7 Pro is a versatile Full HD digital satellite and terrestrial receiver designed to provide a wide range of entertainment options. It supports DVB-S/S2/S2X and DVB-T/T2 standards, offering compatibility with various broadcast signals. Featuring HEVC main 10 profile (10bit) decoding, a CA card slot, and USB WiFi support, the V7 Pro delivers high-quality video and advanced functionalities for an enhanced viewing experience.

4. Product Overview

The GTMEDIA V7 Pro features a compact design with essential ports for connectivity.

Rear Panel Ports:

  • LNB IN: For connecting to a satellite dish.
  • ANT IN: For connecting to a terrestrial antenna.
  • HD OUT: HDMI output for connecting to a TV or display.
  • AV OUT: Analog audio/video output.
  • RF TO TV: RF output for connecting to older TVs.
  • USB: Two USB ports for external storage, USB WiFi dongle, or 3/4G dongle.
  • DC 12V POWER: Power input.
  • ON/OFF: Power switch.

Side Panel:

  • CA Card Slot: For inserting a Conditional Access (CA) card to decrypt encrypted channels.

5. Setup Guide

5.1 Initial Connection

  1. Connect the satellite dish cable to the LNB IN port on the receiver.
  2. If using terrestrial TV, connect the antenna cable to the ANT IN port.
  3. Connect the receiver to your TV using the HDMI Cable. Insert one end into the HD OUT port on the receiver and the other into an HDMI input on your TV.
  4. (Optional) If your package includes a USB WiFi adapter, insert it into one of the USB ports.
  5. Connect the Power Adapter to the DC 12V POWER input on the receiver, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
  6. Ensure the ON/OFF switch on the rear panel is in the OFF position before connecting power.

5.2 Power On and First-Time Setup

  1. Switch on the receiver using the ON/OFF switch.
  2. Turn on your TV and select the correct HDMI input source.
  3. The receiver will boot up. Follow the on-screen instructions for initial setup, which typically includes language selection, time zone, and video output settings.

5.3 Network Setup (for WiFi/Ethernet)

  1. Navigate to the 'Network' or 'System Settings' menu using the remote control.
  2. Select 'WiFi' or 'Ethernet' depending on your connection type.
  3. For WiFi: Select your network from the list, enter the password, and connect.
  4. For Ethernet: If an Ethernet cable is connected to the receiver's LAN port, it should automatically connect to the network.

5.4 Satellite and Terrestrial Channel Scan

  1. From the main menu, go to 'Installation' or 'Channel Search'.
  2. For Satellite (DVB-S2/S2X):
    • Select 'Satellite Installation'.
    • Choose your satellite(s) from the list (e.g., Astra 1C).
    • Configure LNB settings (LNB Freq, DiSEqC, etc.) as per your satellite dish setup.
    • Perform a 'Scan' to find available channels.
  3. For Terrestrial (DVB-T/T2):
    • Select 'Terrestrial Installation'.
    • Choose your country/region.
    • Perform an 'Auto Scan' or 'Manual Scan' to find available channels.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Remote Control Functions

The included remote control allows you to navigate menus, change channels, adjust volume, and access various features. Refer to the user manual for a detailed diagram of the remote control buttons.

6.2 Channel Management

  • Channel List: Press the 'OK' button to view the channel list.
  • EPG (Electronic Program Guide): Press the 'EPG' button to view program schedules.
  • Favorite Channels: You can create and manage favorite channel lists for quick access.

6.3 CA Card Usage

To watch encrypted channels, insert your Conditional Access (CA) card into the CA card slot on the side of the receiver. Ensure the card is inserted correctly, following the orientation indicated on the device.

6.4 Multi-Room Function

The Multi-Room feature allows you to share program resources across multiple GTMEDIA receivers within the same local area network. This means you don't need separate CA cards for each receiver if they are connected to the same network.

6.5 Online Media and GTShare

The V7 Pro supports various online media services like YouTube and Youporn. Additionally, the GTShare APK for SAT2IP allows you to share content from your mobile phone to your TV simultaneously, offering a two-way projection solution.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the receiver. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the receiver has adequate ventilation. Do not block any ventilation openings.
  • Power Off: If the receiver will not be used for an extended period, disconnect it from the power outlet.
  • Software Updates: Periodically check the official GTMEDIA website (www.freesat.cn) for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features.

8. Troubleshooting

9. User Tips

  • Language Settings: If you need to change the menu language, navigate to 'System Settings' and look for 'Language' options. The device typically supports multiple languages.
  • Plug Type: The GTMEDIA V7 Pro is available with different power plug types (US, EU, UK, AU). Ensure you have the correct plug for your region.
