  • Power Adapter: Use only the approved power adapter provided with the camera. Using incompatible adapters may cause damage or safety hazards.
  • SD Card Management: If using an SD card, periodically check its status in the app and consider formatting it if issues arise.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Common Issues & Solutions

  • Camera Offline:
    • Check the power adapter and outlet. Ensure the camera is receiving power.
    • Verify your WiFi network is functioning normally.
    • Ensure the camera is within a good WiFi signal area. Avoid locations with weak signals.
    • If you changed your router, delete the camera from the app, then power cycle and reset the camera near the new router, and add it again.
    • If the issue persists, try reconfiguring the camera through the app.
  • Failed WiFi Connection:
    • Ensure your phone's GPS and all app permissions (especially location services) are enabled.
    • Confirm your router's WiFi name and password are correct and not more than 16 characters.
    • For initial setup, place the camera close to your router.
    • Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network, as some camera models do not support 5GHz.
  • Wired Connection Problems:
    • Check if the Ethernet cable is working correctly.
    • Verify the network port indicator on the camera is always on.
    • Confirm your cellphone is connected to the same network as the camera.
  • Recording Stops:
    • Check the status of the SD card in the app.
    • Verify the recording setup in the app (e.g., continuous, motion-triggered, scheduled).
    • Try using a different SD card to rule out card malfunction.

7. User Tips

  • For optimal WiFi performance, especially for 2.4GHz, consider the camera's distance from the router. 2.4GHz signals travel further but are slower than 5GHz.
  • Always ensure your phone's location services are enabled when setting up the camera via WiFi, as this is often a requirement for the app to detect the camera.
  • If you experience frequent disconnections, try moving the camera closer to your WiFi router or consider using a wired Ethernet connection if available.
  • Take advantage of the free trial for cloud storage to back up important recordings.
