7. Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the power supply and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Input Voltage Selection: Locate the AC input voltage switch on the rear panel of the unit. Ensure it is set to match your local mains voltage (115V or 230V). Incorrect voltage selection can damage the unit.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the AC input power socket on the rear panel and then to a grounded AC outlet.
  4. Output Connections: Connect the test lines (output cables) to the positive (red) and negative (black) output terminals on the front panel. Ensure a secure connection.
  5. Grounding: For safety, connect the ground terminal (green) to a proper earth ground if your application requires it.

8. Operation

8.1 Basic Operation (Voltage and Current Adjustment)

  1. Power On: Flip the power switch to the 'ON' position. The display will light up.
  2. Pre-setting Output: Before connecting your load, adjust the voltage and current to your desired values.
    • Voltage Adjustment: Use the Voltage adjustment knob (or V-COARSE/V-FINE for DPS series) to set the desired output voltage. For encoder models, rotate the knob to change the value and press to move the numerical position.
    • Current Adjustment: Use the Current regulation knob (or A-COARSE/A-FINE for DPS series) to set the desired output current limit. For encoder models, rotate the knob to change the value and press to move the numerical position.
  3. Connecting Load: Once voltage and current are set, connect your device to the output terminals.
  4. Enable Output: For WPS and EPS series, press the 'OUT' button to enable the power output. For GA and DPS series, output is typically active when the unit is powered on and adjusted.

9. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Keep the unit clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Cooling Fan: Ensure the cooling fan on the rear panel is not obstructed to allow for proper airflow. Regularly check for dust buildup and clean if necessary.
  • Fuse Replacement: If the unit fails to power on, check the fuse located in the fuse box on the rear panel. Replace with a fuse of the same type and rating if blown.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the power supply in a dry, dust-free environment.

10. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check the power cord connection, the AC input voltage switch setting (115V/230V), and the fuse.
  • No Output: Ensure the output button (if present on your model) is engaged. Check for OCP (Over Current Protection) or OVP (Over Voltage Protection) indicators, which may be active due to a fault or incorrect settings.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Verify connections to the load and ensure test leads are properly seated. If using external measurement devices, ensure they are calibrated.
  • Overheating: Check that the cooling fan is operating and not obstructed. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

11. User Tips

  • Display Accuracy: The power supply features a 4-digit display, providing high accuracy for voltage, current, and power readings.
  • Universal Voltage Input: The unit is designed to be 'bivolt', meaning it supports both 110V and 220V AC input. Always ensure the rear panel switch is set correctly for your region.
  • Encoder Adjustment: For models with encoder adjustment, a quick press on the knob often allows you to select which digit to adjust, enabling faster and more precise setting of values.
