10. User Tips

  • Compatibility with Garage Door Openers: The module functions as a smart dry contact switch. It should be compatible with most garage door openers that accept a dry contact input for open/close commands. If you have a specific model like a Hörmann Promatic 4, check its manual for compatibility with dry contact switches.
  • Contact Closure Duration: The manual does not specify if the duration of the contact closure (S1 to S2) can be adjusted. If you require a closure time below 1 second, check the advanced settings within the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app after pairing, or consult the official PDF manual for more detailed configuration options.
  • No Wall Button Required: The device connects directly to your garage door opener's control circuit. It can function perfectly even if your opener typically uses RF control, as it provides a direct electrical signal, effectively replacing or supplementing a traditional wall button.
  • Wi-Fi Frequency: This module operates on the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band (IEEE 802.11b/g/n). It is not compatible with 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. Ensure your router is configured to broadcast a 2.4GHz signal for successful connection.
  • iOS Compatibility: Yes, the Smart Life and Tuya Smart apps are fully compatible with Apple mobile phones and can be downloaded from the App Store.
