1. Introduction
The TONGOU TOATS-2 automatic transfer switch is a PC class infrequent change-over switch designed for AC systems operating at 50-60Hz with a rated current of 6A-63A. It features a two-station design, typically for a common power supply (A) and a standby power supply (B).
Its primary function is to automatically switch the load from the common power supply to the backup power supply when the common power supply fails. This ensures uninterrupted power to the connected load, with a rapid switching speed of less than 75 milliseconds, effectively mitigating power outage issues.
When both power supplies A and B are available, the system prioritizes using power supply A.

2. Safety Information
WARNING:
- Before installation and wiring, ensure that professionals have read this manual.
- Proper installation, please check the integrity of ATS.
- Turn on the ATS with the operating handle, check the flexibility of the operating mechanism, and check the opening and closing status of each phase, and normal power and backup power loads.
- Please equip the ATS with suitable circuit breakers according to the installation requirements of the power distribution system to ensure personnel and equipment safety.
- The control circuit TSE is immediately energized. After the changeover is completed, the internal switch will damage the coil in the control circuit, and the coil can work normally at 85%-110% of the rated operating voltage. Too low input voltage may cause the coil to overheat and burn out.
- Attention! When manual operation, the mode selection switch must be in "manual" position.
- Important Note on Inverter Compatibility: The power rating of the load's standby "inverter" must be greater than 3000W. If the inverter's power rating is below 3000W, the ATS may not function properly. For older versions, this could cause the internal coil of the dual power supply to burn out. Newer versions will not burn out the coil but will still not function properly. Please verify your inverter's power rating before purchasing and connecting.

5. Installation
The TONGOU ATS is designed for Din Rail mounting. Ensure all power is disconnected before proceeding with installation.
Wiring Instructions
Refer to Figure 3 and Figure 6 for detailed wiring diagrams. The input power supply must be connected in the correct phase sequence.
- Common Power Supply (I): Connect the neutral wire to N1 and the live wire to A1.
- Backup Power Supply (II): Connect the neutral wire to N2 and the live wire to A2.
- Load Power: Connect the load output neutral wire to N and the load output live wire to A.
- Terminal Wiring: The terminal wiring area is suitable for 1-25 mm² wires. Use an M5 screw for wire connections and tighten to a torque of 2.5 N.m.
Ensure all connections are secure and correctly phased to prevent damage and ensure proper operation.
Environmental Conditions
The ATS can be installed vertically or horizontally in a cabinet. Observe the specified operating and storage temperature ranges, and take measures to prevent condensation in humid environments as detailed in the specifications section.
6. Operation
The ATS supports both automatic and manual operation modes. The switching speed is very fast, ensuring minimal downtime during power transfers.

Automatic Mode
- In automatic mode, the ATS will automatically switch to the backup power supply (B) if the common power supply (A) fails.
- When power supply A is restored, the ATS will automatically switch back to power supply A.
- The green indicator light signifies ON, and the red indicator light signifies OFF.
- A flashing indicator light signals an abnormal common or backup power supply.
Manual Mode
- To switch between manual and automatic modes, use the black button on the device.
- For manual operation, pull the selector switch to the "MANU" position.
- After manual operation is complete, return the selector switch to the "AUTO" position for automatic control.
- Important: When performing manual operation, the mode selection switch must be in the "manual" position.

7. Maintenance
Maintenance and inspection should be carried out by qualified professionals.
- Ensure the good working condition of the ATS. The first maintenance and inspection should be carried out within 6 months after use. Subsequent maintenance and inspection should occur at least once a year.
- During maintenance, check the frequency of maintenance and inspection.
- If the maintenance and inspection items fail, please remove the dust.
- Check whether the electrical contact parts are deformed and damaged, and clean the surface. Metal particles and burnt aroma indicate a problem.
- If the ATS is not left unused for a long time, clean it with a dry cloth.
- Perform a 500V megohmmeter test to measure the insulation resistance of the normal power supply and the AC power supply. The load side and two poles, including the insulation resistance, when using live parts and metal plates, the insulation resistance should not be less than 10MΩ.
8. Troubleshooting
- Device not switching or burning out: Ensure the standby inverter's power rating is greater than 3000W. Lower power inverters may cause malfunction or damage (especially in older models).
- Device not responding in automatic mode: Check if the mode selection switch is set to "AUTO". Ensure both power supplies are connected correctly and are within the rated voltage range.
- Overheating of internal coil: This can occur if the input voltage is too low (below 85% of rated operating voltage) or if the control circuit TSE remains energized after changeover. Ensure stable voltage supply.
- No power to load: Verify that both common and backup power supplies are active and connected. Check the indicator lights for any abnormalities.
9. User Tips
- Many users inquire about inverter compatibility. Always ensure your inverter's power output is sufficient (above 3000W) to avoid operational issues or potential damage.
- For optimal performance and safety, always operate the switch in "AUTO" mode unless performing specific manual tests or maintenance.
- Regularly check the connections and clean the device to ensure longevity and reliable operation.
