2. Setup and Connection
2.1 Battery Installation
The remote control requires two 1.5V AAA batteries. To install:
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
- Open the battery cover.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery cover securely.

2.2 WLED Remote Control Connection Steps
Follow these steps to connect your remote control to your WLED controller:
- Controller Version Check: Ensure your WLED controller version is 0.14.0-beta3 or above.
- WiFi Environment: Confirm that your WLED Remote is in a stable WiFi environment.
- Enable Remote on Controller:
- Go to the WLED controller's control page (via web interface or app).
- Click "Config" in the top right corner.
- Select "WiFi Setup".
- Scroll down to find "Wireless Remote".
- Check the "Enable Remote" box.
- Click "Save & Connect".
- Link Remote to Controller:
- Long press any button on the WLED remote for 1 second.
- Go back to the "WiFi Setup" page on your WLED controller interface.
- Find "Wireless Remote" section again.
- Copy the characters displayed in the "Last Seen" field to the "Hardware MAC" field.
- Click "Save & Connect".
Your GLEDOPTO WLED Remote Control should now be connected and ready to control your WLED controller.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Button Functions

- ON: Short press to turn on the lights.
- OFF: Short press to turn off the lights.
- S1 ~ S4 (Preset Scene Buttons): Short press to activate a pre-saved scene. (Refer to Section 3.2 for setting presets).
- Night: Short press to enter night light mode, which decreases brightness to the lowest level.
- Brightness +: Short press to increase the brightness.
- Brightness -: Short press to decrease the brightness.
Note: To reduce power consumption, the remote control enters sleep mode after 2 seconds of inactivity. It can be woken up by long pressing or double-clicking any button.
3.2 Setting Preset Scenes
The remote control can store up to four preset scenes (S1-S4). To set a scene:
- Adjust your WLED lights to the desired dynamic pattern, color, and brightness using the WLED controller interface (app or web).
- On the WLED control page, click "Presets" at the bottom.
- Select the "Preset" option.
- Choose the ID (1-4) corresponding to the S1-S4 button you wish to assign the current light setting to.
- Click "Save".
The saved preset reflects the current status of the controller. For example, saving to ID 1 will assign the current settings to the 'S1' button on your remote.

4. Maintenance
- Keep the remote control dry. Avoid exposure to moisture or liquids.
- Clean the remote control with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Replace batteries when the remote control's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always use new AAA batteries.
- Store the remote control in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
5. Troubleshooting
- Remote not responding:
- Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
- Ensure the remote control is within the 50-meter operating range of the WLED controller.
- Verify that the WLED controller is powered on and functioning correctly.
- Re-check the connection steps in Section 2.2, especially ensuring "Enable Remote" is checked and the correct "Hardware MAC" is entered.
- Interference issues:
- Avoid using the product in metal-shielded areas or near strong magnetic fields, as this can affect wireless signal transmission.
- Ensure the WLED Remote is in a good WiFi environment, free from excessive interference.
- Lights not changing as expected:
- Confirm that the WLED controller version is 0.14.0-beta3 or above. Older versions may not support all remote features.
- If using preset scenes, ensure they were saved correctly as per Section 3.2.
- Product not turning on:
- Ensure all connections to the WLED controller are correct and secure.
- Do not operate the remote while the WLED controller's power is off.
- Verify the WLED controller is receiving the correct rated voltage. Using it under excessive or insufficient voltage may cause damage.
Important: Do not disassemble the product, as this may cause fire and electric shock.

8. User Tips
- MAC Address for Connection: When connecting the remote to your WLED controller, if prompted for a MAC address, look for the "Last Seen" characters in the "Wireless Remote" section of the WLED controller's WiFi Setup page. This is the MAC address you need to input.
- Power Saving Feature: The remote control is designed to enter a sleep mode after 2 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life. If it seems unresponsive, simply long-press or double-click any button to wake it up.
