6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your LEKATO SMK-25 MINI MIDI Keyboard, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the keyboard. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes. Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the device.
  • Storage: Store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
  • Handling: Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts. Do not place heavy objects on the keyboard.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% and recharge every few months.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your LEKATO SMK-25 MINI, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

7.1 No Sound Output

  • Check Connections: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and your computer. If using Bluetooth, confirm it is properly paired.
  • DAW Settings: Verify that the SMK-25 MINI is selected as the MIDI input device in your DAW's preferences. Also, check that the track is armed for recording or monitoring and that the correct instrument is loaded.
  • Volume Levels: Ensure the volume levels in your DAW, operating system, and any connected audio interface or speakers are turned up.

7.2 Bluetooth Pairing Issues

  • CubeSuite APP: If connecting to a smartphone, remember that Bluetooth pairing must be initiated and completed within the CubeSuite APP, not through the phone's general Bluetooth settings.
  • Device Visibility: Ensure the keyboard is in Bluetooth pairing mode and visible to other devices.
  • Interference: Move away from other wireless devices that might cause interference.
  • Restart: Try restarting both the keyboard and your host device.

7.3 Keys Not Responding / Incorrect Notes

  • Octave Settings: Check the Octave (OC- / OC+) settings on the keyboard. You might be playing in an extreme octave range that produces no audible sound or unexpected notes.
  • Power: Ensure the keyboard has sufficient power. Low battery can sometimes cause erratic behavior.
  • MIDI Channel: Verify that the MIDI channel of the keyboard matches the MIDI input channel of your instrument in the DAW.
