1. Introduction

The WISRETEC Electronic Digital Display Torque Wrench Adapter (ADQ Series) is a versatile and precise tool designed for accurate torque measurement. It converts any standard ratchet wrench into a digital torque wrench, providing real-time readings and peak hold capabilities. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your device.

2. Product Features

  • Digital Display: Clear, easy-to-read screen with backlight function for use in various lighting conditions.
  • Multiple Torque Units: Supports 5 common torque units: Newton meter (N.m), Pound in inch (lb.in), Pound in feet (lb.ft), Kilogram meter (kg.m), and Kilogram centimeter (kg.cm).
  • Dual Operation Modes: Features Peak mode (P) to retain the maximum torque value after unloading, and Tracking mode (T) for real-time torque display.
  • Audible and Visual Alarms: Provides buzzer prompts and LED light indications as the preset torque value is approached and reached.
    • 80% of preset torque: Red light flashing.
    • 90% of preset torque: Green light flashing.
    • 100% of preset torque: Three lights always on, continuous buzzer sound.
  • Preset Torque Values: Stores up to 10 preset torque values (P0-P9) for quick access.
  • High Precision: Achieves high accuracy with Clockwise 2% and Counterclockwise 2.5% tolerance.
  • Versatile Application: Can be paired with a regular ratchet wrench to function as a digital torque wrench.

3. Setup Instructions

  1. Battery Installation:
    • Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
    • Open the compartment and insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
    • Close the battery compartment securely.
  2. Attaching to a Wrench:
    • Select a suitable ratchet wrench or extension bar.
    • Insert the square drive of the torque adapter into the corresponding socket of your wrench.
    • Ensure a secure connection.

4. Operating Instructions

Video 1: Demonstration of basic operations including power on, backlight control, unit switching, and mode switching.
  1. Power On/Off:
    • Short press the "C" button to turn on the device.
    • To turn off, long press the "C" button. The device will also automatically shut down after 90 seconds of inactivity.
  2. Backlight Control:
    • Long press the "U" key to turn the backlight on or off.
  3. Switch Torque Units:
    • Short press the "U" button to cycle through the available torque units (N.m, lb.in, lb.ft, kg.m, kg.cm).
  4. Switch Operation Mode (Peak/Trace):
    • Short press the "P/T" button to switch between Peak mode (P) and Tracking mode (T).
    • In Peak mode, the screen retains the maximum value after unloading.
    • In Tracking mode, the screen shows real-time torque and zeros immediately after unloading.
  5. Setting Preset Torque Values:
    • In Peak mode (P), torque can be preset.
    • Use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the desired torque value.
    • Short press the "M" button to save the current setting or switch between 10 preset torque values (P0-P9).
    • The preset torque value is displayed at the top of the screen.
  6. Torque Measurement and Alarm:
    • Apply torque using your wrench. The display will show the current torque.
    • As you approach the preset torque:
      • At 80%: Buzzer prompts, orange light flashes.
      • At 90%: Green light flashes.
      • At 100%: All three lights (red, orange, green) flash simultaneously, and the buzzer sounds continuously.
    • The closer to the preset torque, the more urgent the buzzer's prompt sound becomes.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the torque adapter in its protective case in a dry, cool place when not in use. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Use 2 new AAA batteries.
  • Calibration: For professional applications requiring certified accuracy, periodic calibration by a qualified service center is recommended.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device does not power on:
    • Check if batteries are installed correctly with proper polarity.
    • Replace batteries with new ones.
    • Ensure the "C" button is short-pressed firmly.
  • Inaccurate readings:
    • Ensure the adapter is securely attached to the wrench and the fastener.
    • Verify the correct torque unit is selected.
    • Consider professional calibration if accuracy issues persist.
  • Display is dim or not visible:
    • Long press the "U" key to activate the backlight.
    • Replace batteries if the display remains dim.
