5.1 General Installation

The AWESAFE radios feature a PIN-to-PIN power cable design, making installation straightforward. Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the device.

5.2 Rear Camera Connection

To connect an optional rear camera, follow these steps:

1. Connect the red cable ① from the camera to the backup light's positive (+) terminal.
2. Connect the black cable ② from the camera to the backup light's negative (-) terminal.
3. Connect the reversing detection cable ④ (brown color) from the radio harness to the red cable ③ extending from the video input cable.
4. The ⑤ cable does not require connection.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto

For PX9 Pro and PX9 Plus models, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto are supported. Simply connect your smartphone via Bluetooth to enable screen mirroring and access navigation, phone contacts, notifications, music, and voice assistants like Siri or Google Assistant. This feature significantly enhances driving convenience and entertainment.

• V1C: Does not support CarPlay or Android Auto.
• V1: Supports wired CarPlay and wired Android Auto.
• V1 Pro / PX9 Plus: Supports built-in wireless CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.

6.2 Steering Wheel Control

The unit supports steering wheel controls, allowing you to manage tracks, volume, and other functions directly from your steering wheel for increased safety and convenience.

Setting up Steering Wheel Controls:

For V1C/V1 models without Canbus:

1. Go to Car Settings.
2. Navigate to General.
3. Select SWC Type.
4. Choose Learning Type.
5. Press OK to start the calibration process.

For V1 Pro models without Canbus:

1. Go to Settings.
2. Navigate to Car Infotainment.
3. Select SWC.
4. Press OK to start the calibration process.

For V1C/V1 models with Canbus:

1. Go to Settings.
2. Navigate to System.
3. Select Car settings.
4. Choose Model choose.
5. Select Config.

For V1 Pro models with Canbus:

1. Go to Settings.
2. Navigate to About Device.
3. Tap the Gear icon.
4. Enter the password 8888.
5. Select CAN Type.

6.3 DSP Sound System

The Digital Sound Processor (DSP) enhances audio quality by making treble smoother, midrange richer, and bass fuller. You can adjust the equalizer settings and speaker positions for an optimized listening experience.

6.4 GPS Navigation

The car radio comes with pre-installed offline maps and offers free lifetime updates. It supports popular navigation apps like Igo, Waze, Google Maps, and Navite.

6.5 Split Screen Functionality

9.1 Common Issues and Solutions

Unit does not power on:

Check all power cable connections. Ensure the car's ignition is on and the fuse is intact.

No sound:

Verify speaker connections. Check volume levels and DSP settings. Ensure the correct audio source is selected.

GPS signal lost or inaccurate:

Ensure the GPS antenna is properly installed and has a clear view of the sky. Update GPS maps if necessary.

CarPlay/Android Auto not connecting:

For wireless connections, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the radio and your phone. For wired connections, use a high-quality USB cable and ensure the 'AutoLink' or 'ZLINK5' app is open on the radio. Check compatibility for your specific radio model (V1C does not support, V1 is wired, V1 Pro/PX9 Plus is wireless).

Steering Wheel Controls not working:

Perform the SWC learning/calibration process as described in Section 6.2. Ensure Canbus connections are correct if your vehicle requires it.

Unit reboots frequently:

Ensure the cooling fan is functioning correctly and not obstructed. Check for any loose wiring or power fluctuations.
