4. Setup Instructions
The SMATRUL Zigbee Repeater requires a Zigbee gateway to function. It is recommended to use a compatible "C smart" series multi-mode gateway for optimal performance and stability.
4.1. Physical Connection
- Locate a suitable power source, such as a USB wall adapter or a Type-C powered "C smart" switch socket.
- Plug the Zigbee Repeater's Type-C connector into the power source. The indicator light on the repeater should flash, indicating it is powered on and ready for pairing.

4.2. Pairing with Smart Life APP via Zigbee Gateway
The gateway requires an additional purchase and must be paired with a Zigbee gateway to add a child device.
4.2.1. Adding the Zigbee Gateway (if not already added)
- Open the Smart Life APP on your smartphone.
- Ensure your phone's WiFi and Bluetooth (BLE) are enabled.
- On your Zigbee Gateway, long-press the pairing button until its indicator light flashes rapidly.
- In the Smart Life APP, a pop-up window should appear to add the gateway. Follow the on-screen instructions.

6. User Tips
- Optimal Placement: For best results, place the repeater strategically between your Zigbee gateway and distant sub-devices to ensure maximum signal coverage.
- Multiple Repeaters: For larger homes or areas with many obstacles, consider purchasing and installing multiple repeaters to create a robust, unobstructed whole-house network.
- Gateway Pairing Mode: When pairing new low-power devices, ensure they are woken up in advance and that the gateway's pairing mode is turned off after successful pairing to prevent inaccurate signal data.
- Obstacle Awareness: If experiencing poor signal strength, check for and remove any physical obstacles between your devices and the repeater/gateway.
7. Troubleshooting
- Device Not Working / Bad Signal Strength: If devices are not connecting or showing bad signal strength, ensure your Zigbee gateway is properly set up and paired. Check for physical obstacles that might be blocking the signal.
- Repeater Not Pairing: Verify the repeater is powered on and its indicator light is flashing. Ensure your Zigbee gateway is in pairing mode (if manually adding) or actively searching for new devices (if automatically adding).
- Limited Coverage: If the signal coverage is still insufficient after installing one repeater, consider adding more repeaters in different areas of your home to expand the network range.
