Pairing Steps (Method 2 - Scan Code):

  1. Start the scanner and scan the "Bluetooth HID Pairing Mode" barcode (refer to page 11 of the PDF manual). The blue light will flash.
  2. Follow steps 2-4 from Method 1 to complete pairing and test.

Bluetooth SPP Mode Pairing:

This mode is primarily for Android devices and is not supported on iOS (iPhones/iPads use Apple's proprietary iAP/MFi profile). To use, scan the "Bluetooth SPP Pairing Mode" barcode (refer to page 11 of the PDF manual). The blue light will flash. Then, launch your SPP-enabled application and pair the scanner directly within the application's connection/device manager.

Bluetooth BLE Mode Pairing:

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Scanning Modes

You can configure the scanner's reading behavior:

  • Manual Trigger Mode (Default): The scanner reads only when the trigger button is pressed. It stops reading after a successful scan or when the trigger is released. (Refer to page 18 of the PDF manual for the setting barcode).
  • Continuous Scanning Mode: The scanner continuously reads barcodes without needing to press the trigger for each scan. (Refer to page 18 of the PDF manual for the setting barcode).
  • Auto-Sensing Scanning Mode: The scanner automatically detects and scans barcodes when they are presented within its field of view. (Refer to page 18 of the PDF manual for the setting barcode).
Scanning 1D, 2D, and QR Codes

The Eyoyo EY-015P can easily scan various 1D, 2D, and QR codes from paper or monitor screens, including QR Code, Data Matrix, Maxicode, Aztec code, Hanxin, UPC/EAN, and PDF417.

4.2 Upload Modes

Choose how scanned data is transferred to your device:

  • Normal Mode (Instant Upload): Scanned barcodes are uploaded directly to the connected device (Bluetooth, 2.4G Wireless, or USB wired). If the connection fails, data will be lost. (Refer to page 13 of the PDF manual for the setting barcode).
  • Storage Mode: Scans are stored in the scanner's internal 16MB memory (up to 80,000 barcodes) and can be uploaded later. The scanner will emit a short tone when a barcode is stored. If memory is full, it will emit three low-frequency short tones. To switch to Storage Mode, scan the "Storage Mode" barcode. To upload stored data, scan the "Data Upload" barcode. Data remains in memory after upload, allowing multiple uploads. (Refer to page 13-14 of the PDF manual for setting barcodes).
Two Upload Modes: Instant and Storage

4.3 Battery and Charging

The scanner is powered by a 450mAh rechargeable battery. Ensure it has sufficient power before use.

  • Charging: Insert the USB cable into the bottom of the scanner and connect the other end to a 5V DC USB power adapter.
  • Charging Indicator: A green light on top of the scanner stays on during charging and turns off when fully charged.
  • Low Battery Indication: The scanner will emit a constant beep when the battery is low. Stop scanning and charge immediately.
  • Checking Battery Level: Scan the "Battery Remaining" barcode (refer to page 9 of the PDF manual) while in a text editor to see the remaining battery percentage.

6. Troubleshooting

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • How to turn on/off the barcode scanner?
Press SCAN buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds to turn on. It automatically turns off after inactivity. Sleep time can be set (refer to page 16).
  • What if I cannot pair the scanner with Bluetooth devices?
Ensure the scanner is in the correct Bluetooth pairing state. If you've previously connected to other devices, delete all old Bluetooth connection records. If the Bluetooth module is damaged, contact support.
  • Why do scanned barcodes fail to upload to a computer or smartphone?
Verify successful pairing (blue LED indicator). Check if the scanner is in "Storage Mode" (scans won't upload automatically; scan "Data Upload" barcode to transfer). Switch to "Normal Mode" for simultaneous upload.
  • If I scan a product barcode, will it include the product name?
No, the scanner acts like a keyboard, typing out the barcode's alphanumeric characters. It does not interpret the barcode's meaning. You need database software to correlate the barcode with product information.
  • Why does the scanner not read the barcode exactly?
Try adjusting the transmission speed to slow (refer to page 13 of the PDF manual). If issues persist, contact support with a photo of the barcode and an operation video.
  • Why can some barcodes not be read?
Incomplete or unclear barcodes may not be readable. Some barcode types might be disabled by default; activate them if needed (refer to pages 18-25 of the PDF manual).
  • Can I turn off the white LED light?
No, the white LED is a fill light essential for scanning performance, especially in dark environments.
  • Do I need to install a driver?
Generally no, unless serial port settings are required. Contact support if needed.
  • Why is the keyboard deactivated when the scanner connects to my phone?
The scanner functions as an input device, replacing the phone's keyboard. On iOS, double-clicking the scan button can pull up/hide the keyboard. This function is not supported on Android.
