5. Installation Guide

5.1 Opening Installation Method

To install the meter, create a circular hole with a diameter of 54.5mm on your equipment panel. Insert the meter into this hole from the front. Secure it by tightening the mounting bracket with a butterfly nut from the back.

5.2 Wiring Method

Important: Ensure all current flowing through the battery passes through the sampler. The sampler must be connected in series in the negative circuit of the battery. It is strictly prohibited to connect it to the positive circuit or to lengthen/shorten the shielded wire.

  1. Connect the sampler in series to the negative circuit of the battery pack.
  2. The B- end of the sampler is connected to the negative electrode B- of the battery pack.
  3. The P- end of the sampler is connected to the negative electrode P-/B- for charging and discharging.
  4. Take a red wire (0.3-0.75mm² recommended) and connect one end to the positive pole B+ of the battery pack, and the other end to the B+ terminal on the sampler.
  5. Connect one end of the shielded wire to the sampler socket and the other end to the TR16 socket. Ensure connections are firm and correct for proper operation.

6. Operation

The TR16 meter displays four key parameters, which can be manually switched for viewing:

Diagram showing the four manually switchable display parameters: Voltage, Current, Capacity, Percentage

Figure 6: Manually Switchable Display Parameters

  • Voltage (V): Real-time display of the battery's operating voltage (supports 8-120V).
  • Current (A): Real-time display of the battery's operating current size (maximum 0-500A).
  • Capacity (Ah): Real-time display of the remaining battery ampere-hours (supports 0-999 Ah).
  • Percentage (%): Real-time display of the percentage of remaining battery power.

Use the buttons on the meter (V, A/Ah SET, %) to cycle through these display modes and access settings.

7. Maintenance

  • Keep the meter clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Ensure all connections remain secure and free from corrosion.
  • The waterproof design protects against rain and splashes, but avoid submerging the device in water.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No display/Power issueIncorrect wiring, loose connection, battery voltage outside range.Check all wiring connections according to the diagram (Figure 5). Ensure battery voltage is within 8-120V.
Inaccurate readingsSampler not correctly installed in series, shielded cable damaged, incorrect capacity setting.Verify the sampler is correctly wired in the negative circuit. Check shielded cable for damage. Ensure the preset capacity value (Ah) is accurate for your battery.
Display flickering or unstableLoose connections, electrical interference.Tighten all wiring connections. Ensure the shielded cable is properly used to minimize interference.

9. User Tips

  • Always double-check your wiring against the provided diagrams before powering on the device to prevent damage.
  • For optimal accuracy, ensure the preset capacity (Ah) matches your battery's actual capacity.
  • The waterproof feature is for protection against splashes; avoid full submersion.
