4. Setup Guide

4.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the doorbell unit using the provided USB charging cable. Ensure the doorbell's power is not less than 15% when attempting network configuration.

4.2 App Installation

1. Download the "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app from your device's app store (compatible with Android 4.3+ or iOS 9.0+).
2. Register or log in to your account.

4.3 Device Pairing and Network Connection

1. Ensure your mobile phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The doorbell only supports Wi-Fi IEEE802 11b/g/n (2.4GHz).
2. Open the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.
3. If the doorbell is not automatically discovered, tap "Add Device" or the "+" icon in the app.
4. Follow the in-app instructions to add the doorbell. You may need to long-press the doorbell button for 5-10 seconds to reset the equipment and enter pairing mode if it's not automatically detected.
5. When prompted, enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network details. Ensure the Wi-Fi connected to your mobile phone and the doorbell are the same.
6. Once connected, the app will confirm successful pairing.

4.4 Installation

The doorbell offers two installation methods:

• Adhesive Mounting: Use the provided double-sided adhesive film to attach the doorbell to a clean, flat surface.
• Screw Mounting: Use the provided screws and wall anchors to securely mount the doorbell.

Choose a location that provides a clear view of your entrance and is within range of your Wi-Fi network.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Visitor Notification and Two-Way Audio

When a visitor presses the doorbell button, a push notification will be sent to your mobile phone. You can then open the app to initiate a video call, allowing you to see and speak with the visitor in real-time from anywhere.

5.2 Remote Monitoring and Recording

You can access the doorbell's camera feed remotely through the Tuya Smart Life app at any time. The doorbell can capture visitor pictures and save records to the app, allowing you to view past events. The mobile app can quickly wake up the device within 1 second for remote viewing.

5.3 Night Vision

The doorbell is equipped with infrared night vision. When ambient light levels drop below 2 Lux, it automatically switches from day mode to night mode, providing clear images even in low-light conditions.

5.4 Chime Settings

The wireless chime (receiver) can be plugged into any standard USB power source. You can adjust the volume and select from 20 different ringtones using the buttons on the chime unit.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Management

The doorbell unit has a built-in 1000 mAh rechargeable lithium battery. A full charge can last for approximately 3-4 months. Recharge the doorbell using the provided USB cable when the battery level is low. The chime unit is powered via USB and does not require battery charging.

6.2 Storage

The doorbell supports local storage via a TF card (up to 128GB, not included). For 64GB memory cards, ensure they are formatted to FAT32 for proper functionality. Cloud storage is also available and is free forever for recorded events.

6.3 Cleaning

Wipe the doorbell and chime units with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. The doorbell is IP65 waterproof, but avoid submerging it in water.

7. Troubleshooting

• Connection Issues: If you experience problems connecting the doorbell to the app, long-press the doorbell button for 5-10 seconds to reset the equipment and try pairing again. Ensure the doorbell's battery is above 15% during network configuration.
• No Notifications on Phone: Check your phone's app notification settings for "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" to ensure they are enabled. Also, verify that the app is running in the background or has appropriate permissions.
• Chime Range: The chime has a transmission distance of up to 50 meters. If the chime is not ringing, ensure it is within this range and there are no significant obstructions (like thick walls) between the doorbell and the chime.
• Wi-Fi Connectivity: The doorbell only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. It is not compatible with 5GHz Wi-Fi. Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz signal and your phone is connected to it during setup.
• No Motion Detection: This doorbell model does not feature motion detection to conserve battery life. It only activates and sends notifications when the doorbell button is pressed.
• TF Card Not Working: Ensure the TF card is high-speed. If using a 64GB card, format it to FAT32.

9. User Tips

• For optimal performance during network setup, ensure the doorbell's battery is charged above 15%.
• If using a 64GB TF card for local storage, remember to format it to FAT32 for compatibility.
• To ensure you receive instant alerts, double-check that notifications are enabled for the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app in your phone's settings.
• This doorbell operates exclusively on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. It is not compatible with 5GHz Wi-Fi.
• The wireless chime has a maximum effective range of 50 meters. Position it strategically to ensure reliable alerts throughout your home.
• While the doorbell is IP65 waterproof, it is designed to withstand splashes and rain, not submersion.
