3.2 Adjusting Cutting Length
The clipper offers two methods for adjusting cutting length:
- Guide Combs: For lengths from 3mm to 19mm, attach the appropriate guide comb as described in Section 2.2.
- Moving Knife Adjustment: For fine-tuning and shorter lengths (less than 0.5mm), use the lever on the side of the clipper. This allows for four gear adjustments: 0.6mm, 0.4mm, 0.3mm, and 0.2mm. Turn the adjusting rod counterclockwise to reduce the tooth distance of the tool head for more subtle variations.

3.3 Trimming Techniques
The Kemei KM-1071 is designed for both wet and dry haircuts, as well as beard and mustache trimming.
- General Haircut: Start with a longer guide comb and gradually switch to shorter ones until the desired length is achieved. Move the clipper against the direction of hair growth.
- Beard and Mustache Trimming: Use appropriate guide combs for desired beard length. For shaping and detailing, remove the guide comb and use the adjustable blade for precise lines.
- Dry Shaving & Edging: The T-blades provide a super-close, clean shave without causing razor bumps or irritation. Use without a guide comb for crisp lines and sharp edges.
- Safety Feature: The R-type fillet teeth design ensures safe contact with skin, preventing nicks and cuts.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning the Blades
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your clipper.
- Turn off the clipper and disconnect it from any power source.
- Remove the guide comb.
- Use the provided cleaning brush to remove any loose hairs from the blades and the clipper body.
- For a more thorough clean, the blades can be carefully detached (refer to specific instructions if provided in the physical manual for your model, as detachment methods can vary).
- Wipe the clipper body with a dry cloth. Do not rinse the entire clipper under water unless explicitly stated as waterproof in your specific model's documentation.
4.2 Lubrication
To maintain blade sharpness and smooth operation, it is recommended to lubricate the blades regularly.
- Apply a few drops of clipper oil (not included due to air shipping limitations) to the blades after each cleaning or every few uses.
- Turn the clipper on for a few seconds to distribute the oil evenly.
- Wipe off any excess oil.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Clipper Not Turning On
- Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the clipper to the charger and check if the indicator light turns red.
- Verify the power switch is fully in the 'ON' position.
5.2 Poor Cutting Performance
- Check if the blades are clean and free of hair buildup. Clean them thoroughly with the brush.
- Ensure the blades are properly lubricated.
- Verify that the guide comb is correctly attached and not damaged.
- The blades may be dull. If performance does not improve after cleaning and oiling, consider professional sharpening or blade replacement if available.
5.3 Charging Indicator Issues
- If the indicator light does not turn on when charging, ensure the USB cable and power source are working correctly. Try a different cable or adapter.
- If the light remains red after 3 hours of charging, the battery may not be holding a charge, or there might be an issue with the charging circuit.
