4. Setup - Connecting Your Device

4.1. Connecting to a Laptop (with Type-C)

There are two recommended methods for connecting your laptop via Type-C:

  1. Method 1 (Type-C to Type-C): Connect the monitor directly to your laptop using the full-featured Type-C cable. This method transmits both video signal and power.
  2. Method 2 (Type-C to Type-C with PD Adapter): For a brighter and clearer screen display, and to prevent black screen or flickering, it is highly recommended to use a PD charger to supply additional power to the portable monitor while connected to your laptop via Type-C.

8. Troubleshooting Common Issues

Q1: Showing "No Signal" on the screen.

A1: When connecting with a Type-C cable, make sure your device supports Type-C 3.0 / Thunderbolt 3. If not, please add a Mini HDMI to HDMI cable for signal transmission.

A2: If connected with an HDMI cable, please ensure to supply extra power for the monitor.

Q2: My monitor won't power on.

A: Check if the monitor and your device are in the ON mode. Make sure the cables are properly connected. Connect another available device or cable to check. If the problem persists, please contact support@hgfrtee.com.

Q3: Why is my screen flickering?

A: Please check if the connection is loose. If there is no problem with the connection, it may be due to insufficient power supply (minimum power requirement for the monitor is PD 25W). Please connect the adapter and use it again, or try to change a new connecting cable and device for connection. If it still doesn't work, please contact support@hgfrtee.com.

Q4: Why does the monitor make a current sound or rustling noise?

A: Please confirm where the noise is coming from. If it is the noise from the connection, please re-plug the interface or replace it with a new cable. If it is the sound from the adapter or the speaker, it may be due to the quality of the power adapter, please contact support@hgfrtee.com.

Q5: Why does it say "No Signal" when connecting to my phone?

A1: Please confirm that your phone has a Type-C interface and is at least version 3.1 or has a PD protocol. If not, it may not be compatible, and some conversion machines can be used to make it compatible, for example: wireless screen projector.

A2: Please make sure to use the original cable.

A3: Please try another device, if it still fails, please tell us for a replacement.

9. User Tips

  • Stable Power Supply: Always use a PD adapter (25W minimum recommended) to provide stable power to the portable monitor, especially when connecting to devices via HDMI or if you experience screen flickering. This ensures optimal brightness and prevents display issues.
  • Original Cables: For the best performance and to avoid connectivity problems, always use the original cables provided with your monitor. If issues persist, try replacing the cable.
  • Device Compatibility: Before connecting, verify that your device (laptop or phone) supports the necessary Type-C version (3.0/Thunderbolt 3 for laptops, 3.1/PD protocol for phones) for direct video output.
