1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your PGST PG103 4G WiFi Smart Home Wireless Alarm System. This system is designed to enhance your home security with advanced features and smart integration.

The PGST PG103 is a critical alarm system that combines WiFi and SIM card capabilities. WiFi provides network functionality, while SIM cards offer call and text messaging capabilities. It supports 10 languages: Chinese, English, German, Russian, Spanish, Polish, Italian, French, Portuguese, and Greek.

The system is compatible with the Tuya Smart Life application and works with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

3. Alarm Host Appearance and Accessories

3.1. Top View

3.4. Main Interface Description

The main interface provides quick hints for the keyboard, main status zone, status bar (GSM signal, WiFi wireless network, GSM task status, power status), time, delay status, arm/disarm status, alarm status, date, and keypad functions.

4. Setup Instructions

4.1. Initial Usage

4.1.1. Start

  1. Insert SIM card: Insert a MICRO SIM card into the SIM card slot. A ticking sound indicates proper insertion.
  2. Power on: Plug the power adapter into the USB 5V jack to turn on power.
  3. Turn on the alarm host: Press the Power On/Off key. A "welcome" window will appear, indicating the alarm host is on.
  4. Turn off the alarm host: Press and hold the Power On/Off key for 3 seconds until the screen turns off.

4.1.2. System Initialization

Continuously press the Power On/Off key 5 times. The alarm host will restart, and system initialization will be complete. This resets all data (remote controls, wireless detectors, RFID cards, language, time zone, etc.) to factory defaults. The IP address is cleared, and the alarm host goes offline from GPRS. The IP address must be re-set for online GPRS and intranet center connection.

Caution: Use this function carefully. It is typically used only if you forget the password, the alarm host malfunctions, or parameters are incorrectly set.

4.2. Menu Operation

Use the Previous/Function key and Next/Backspace key to navigate menus. Press the Return/Cancel key to go back, and the Enter key to proceed. Long press the Next/Backspace key to delete all input information when used as a backspace key.

4.3. Phone Number Setup

The system supports up to 5 groups of alarm numbers, each with independent dial-up and SMS switches.

Example (Phone Number 1):

  1. Navigate: Main Menu → Phone → 1st Phone.
  2. Select "Number", input the alarm number (up to 18 digits), and use the backspace key for corrections.
  3. Select "Dial", then choose "On" or "Off". "On" enables dialing the number during an alarm.
  4. Select "SMS", then choose "On" or "Off". "On" enables sending SMS to this number during an alarm.
  5. Press Enter to confirm. The system will display "Setting OK".

4.4. Add/Delete Remote Control

4.4.1. Add Remote Control

  1. Navigate: Main Menu → Parts → Add Remoter → Enter.
  2. The alarm host will display "Synchronize" and start a 20-second countdown.
  3. Press any key on the remote control to send a signal to the alarm host.
  4. The alarm host will display "Learning OK" upon successful addition. If "Device code has been learnt" appears, the remote control is already added.

4.4.2. Delete Remote Control

  1. Navigate: Main Menu → Parts → Del Remoter → Enter.
  2. The alarm host will display "Delete Remoter all" and show stored remote control numbers.
  3. Press Enter to confirm. The alarm host will display "Operation OK", and all remote controls will be deleted.

4.5. Add/Delete Wireless Detector (including Doorbell Alarm)

4.5.1. Add Wireless Detector

  1. Navigate: Main Menu → Parts → Add Detector → Enter.
  2. Enter the "Set Name and Mode" dialog window.
  3. Select "Name" and choose the corresponding zone name for the detector.
  4. Select the mode for the zone:
    • Stay armed Active: Detector alarms if triggered when armed or stay armed. Recommended for main doors, windows, balconies, perimeter.
    • Out Armed Active: Detector does not alarm if triggered when out armed. Recommended for halls, bedrooms.
    • 24 hours Active: Host alarms anytime if triggered. Recommended for emergency, smoke, gas, carbon monoxide, water leaks.
    • Close: Detector will not alarm if triggered.
    • Doorbell: For doorbell function, a tinkling sound will arise when pressed.
  5. Press Enter to confirm. The alarm host will display "Synchronize" and start a 20-second countdown.
  6. Trigger the wireless detector to send a signal to the alarm host.
  7. The alarm host will display "Learning OK" upon successful addition. If "Device code has been learnt" appears, the detector is already added.

4.5.2. Delete Wireless Detector

  1. Navigate: Main Menu → Parts → Delete Detector → Enter.
  2. The alarm host will display "Delete detector all" and show stored detector numbers.
  3. Press Enter to confirm. The alarm host will display "Operation OK", and all wireless detectors and doorbells will be deleted.

4.6. Add/Delete RFID Card

4.6.1. Add RFID Card

  1. Navigate: Main Menu → Parts → Add RFID → Enter.
  2. The alarm host will display "Synchronize" and start a 20-second countdown.
  3. Place the RFID card close to the sensitive area on the bottom-right corner of the alarm host.
  4. The alarm host will display "Learning OK" upon successful addition. If "Device code has been learnt" appears, the RFID card is already added.

4.6.2. Delete RFID Card

  1. Navigate: Main Menu → Parts → Del RFID → Enter.
  2. The alarm host will display "Delete RFID all" and show stored RFID card numbers.
  3. Press Enter to confirm. The alarm host will display "Setting OK", and all RFID cards will be deleted.

4.7. Synchronization with External Wireless Siren

This instruction applies to PGST model PE-519 wireless siren.

  1. Navigate: Main Menu → Parts → Siren Learn → Enter.
  2. Press and hold the Set button on the siren until 2 sounds are heard. The siren's indicator will flash quickly, entering synchronization status.
  3. Press Enter on the alarm host. It will display "Learn Signal Sent" and send a wireless signal to the siren.
  4. A long and a short sound from the siren indicate successful synchronization.

Once synchronized, the siren will sound simultaneously with the alarm host during an alarm event.

4.8. Smart Life APP Quick Use Guide

4.8.1. APP Download

Download the "Smart Life" APP from major global application stores. Search "Smart Life" in Apple App Store or Google Play Store. For Android, you can also scan the QR code below.

Note: iOS users must search in the Apple App Store. Android users can use Google Play or the provided QR code.

4.8.2. Account Registration and Login

When registering and logging in with a mobile phone number, ensure you select the correct country/region and replace the "+xx" country code with the appropriate code for your mobile number.

4.8.3. Device Network Configuration

The default network configuration mode is "Airlink Configure". It can be switched to "SoftAP Configure" via "Other Mode". Ensure your mobile phone is connected to the 2.4GHz WiFi network you intend to configure for the device.

One Click Configuration:

  1. Open the Smart Life APP. Click "Add Device".
  2. Click "Sensor" and select "Alarm (Wi Fi)".
  3. Enter your WiFi password and click "Next".
  4. On the alarm host, go to "Wi Fi Settings" and select "One click Configuration". Confirm to reset WiFi.
  5. In the APP, click "Confirm Indicator Flashes".
  6. The APP will enter the device connection interface.
  7. The alarm host will display "Configuration succeeded". The APP will show "Multi function alarm host" successfully added. Click "Finish".
  8. The APP will navigate to the "multi-function alarm host" function interface.

Hotspot Configuration:

  1. Open the Smart Life APP. Click "Add Device".
  2. Click "Sensor" and select "Alarm (Wi Fi)".
  3. Enter your WiFi password and click "Next".
  4. On the alarm host, go to "Wi Fi Settings" and select "Hotspot Configuration". Confirm to reset WiFi.
  5. In the APP, click "confirmation indicator flashes".
  6. The APP will enter the "Connect mobile Wi-Fi to device hotspot" interface. Click "Disconnect".
  7. Connect your mobile device to the SmartLife XXXX hotspot, then return to the APP.
  8. The APP will enter the device connection interface.
  9. The alarm host will display "Configuration succeeded". The APP will show "Multi function alarm host" successfully added.
  10. Click "Finish" in the APP. The APP will navigate to the "multi-function alarm host" function interface.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Daily Operation

The alarm host can be controlled via remote control, keyboard, RFID card, remote SMS, mobile phone APP, or GPRS alarm center.

5.1.1. Out Arm (Away Arm)

  • Remote control: Press the [A] key.
  • Keyboard: In the Main Interface, press the Arm key.
  • RFID card: In Disarm mode, place the RFID card near the sensitive area on the bottom right corner of the alarm host.
  • Remote SMS: Send SMS "1234#1" (where 1234 is your user password) to the SIM card in the alarm host. The system will reply with "System Armed!".
  • APP: Press the "Arm" button.

Upon successful arming, a voice reminder "System armed" will be heard, the Main Interface will display "Armed" and "Please exit", along with an exit time progress bar. All defense zones are on alert. If any zone is triggered, the alarm host will generate a local siren alarm, send SMS/calls to preset numbers, and send alarm messages to the mobile APP or GPRS alarm center.

5.1.2. Stay Arm (Home Arm)

  • Remote control: Press the [House] key.
  • Keyboard: In the Main Interface, press the Stay Arm key twice.
  • APP: Press the "Stay Arm" button.

A voice reminder "System armed" will be heard, and the Main Interface will display "Stay Armed". Only designated Stay Arm defense zones are active. If triggered, the alarm host will generate a local siren alarm, send SMS/calls to preset numbers, and send alarm messages to the mobile APP or GPRS alarm center.

5.1.3. Disarm

  • Remote control: Press the [Disarm] key.
  • Keyboard: In the Main Interface, press the Disarm key.
  • RFID card: In Arm/Stay arm mode, place the RFID card near the sensitive area on the bottom right corner of the alarm host.
  • Remote SMS: Send SMS "1234#2" (where 1234 is your user password) to the SIM card in the alarm host. The system will reply with "System Disarmed!".
  • APP: Press the "Disarm" button.

A voice reminder "System Disarmed" will be heard, and the Main Interface will display "Disarmed". All alarm procedures will be terminated.

5.1.4. SOS (Panic Alarm)

  • Remote control: Press the SOS key.
  • Keyboard: In the Main Interface, press the SOS key.
  • APP: Press the "SOS" key.

The Main Interface will display "Help". The alarm host will generate a local siren alarm, send alarm SMS/calls to preset numbers, and send alarm messages to the mobile APP or GPRS alarm center.

5.2. Phone Function

In the Main Interface, press the "Call" key to make a call. Follow the on-screen hints. Note that calling is forbidden if there's no GSM network, in Arm mode, during an alarm, or while another call is active.

5.3. Alarm and Remote Monitoring

The system supports various alarm types and will send SMS, push APP messages, and make calls to preset numbers when an alarm is triggered. This allows for real-time monitoring and remote operation.

Additional alarm types include:

  • Main power malfunction (activated after 5 seconds of power loss).
  • Backup battery shortage (activated if battery voltage drops below 3.45V for 10 seconds during main power malfunction).
  • Main power recovery.
  • Anti-tamper alarm (activated if the mounting bracket is separated from the alarm host).

5.3.1. SMS Alarm

When an alarm is triggered, the system sends an SMS to preset phone numbers with the alarm host name and current alarm details.

5.3.2. Voice Alarm and Remote Monitoring

When an alarm is triggered, the system automatically dials preset phone numbers (if dial switch is on). Upon answering, it plays the alarm type and any recorded voice message. You can then:

  • Press "1" to Arm.
  • Press "2" to Disarm.
  • Press "3" to Monitor.
  • Press "4" to Talk.

If the call is not answered or fails, the system will redial according to preset times until answered.

5.3.3. Remote Access by Phone

If a preset phone number calls the alarm host, the system will automatically answer, allowing for on-time monitoring and remote operation.

5.3.4. Intranet Monitoring Center

Alarm messages are sent to the GPRS alarm center for quick handling. This requires correct IP address and APN settings (refer to "Remote SMS Parameter Setup").

5.4. Timer Settings

Set automatic arm/disarm times to suit your routine.

5.4.1. Arm Timer

  1. Navigate: Main Menu → Timer → Arm Timer.
  2. Select "Timer", delete the original time, and input the 4-digit scheduled arm time (HH:MM).
  3. Select "Switch", and choose "On" or "Off".
  4. Press Enter to confirm.

5.4.2. Disarm Timer

  1. Navigate: Main Menu → Timer → Disarm Timer.
  2. Select "Timer", delete the original time, and input the 4-digit scheduled disarm time (HH:MM).
  3. Select "Switch", and choose "On" or "Off".
  4. Press Enter to confirm.

5.5. Voice Record

You can record a 20-second voice message that will play when the alarm host dials a preset phone number during an alarm.

  1. Navigate: Main Menu → Record → Record and Play.
  2. The system will display "Busy and waiting please", then "Recording".
  3. After recording, it will automatically play back the message.
  4. Press Enter to save. The system will display "Please wait saving", then "Setting OK".

6. Maintenance

  • Regularly check the battery level of the alarm host and all wireless sensors.
  • Ensure the SIM card has sufficient credit and is active for GSM functions.
  • Keep the alarm host and sensors clean and free from dust.
  • Test the alarm system periodically (e.g., once a month) to ensure all components are functioning correctly.
  • Avoid placing the alarm host near strong electromagnetic interference sources.
  • Ensure the WiFi connection is stable for optimal smart home integration.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No GSM Signal: Check SIM card insertion, ensure it's active, and verify network coverage in the area.
  • WiFi Connection Issues: Ensure the alarm host is within range of your 2.4GHz WiFi network. Re-enter WiFi credentials in the APP. Check if your router is functioning correctly.
  • Sensors Not Triggering: Verify sensor battery levels. Ensure sensors are properly paired with the alarm host (refer to "Add/Delete Wireless Detector"). Check sensor placement and alignment.
  • Remote Control Not Working: Check remote control battery. Re-pair the remote control with the alarm host (refer to "Add/Delete Remote Control").
  • Alarm Host Not Responding: Try restarting the alarm host by powering it off and on. If issues persist, consider a system initialization (refer to "System Initialization" - use with caution as it resets settings).
  • False Alarms: Review sensor placement and sensitivity settings. Ensure pets or environmental factors are not triggering motion sensors.
  • APP Connectivity Issues: Ensure your phone has internet access. Check if the alarm host is online in the APP. Re-bind the alarm host to the APP if necessary.

  • Always test new sensors after adding them to the system to confirm they are properly recognized and trigger alarms as expected.
  • Familiarize yourself with the different arming modes (Out Arm, Stay Arm) to effectively secure your home based on whether you are away or at home.
