4. Setup and Installation
4.1. Pre-Installation Check
Before beginning installation, ensure the car radio is compatible with your vehicle model. The AWESAFE car radio is designed for universal fit in many Volkswagen, Nissan, Hyundai, and Toyota models. Compare your car's dashboard with the provided images to confirm compatibility.

4.3. Rear View Camera Connection
To connect the rear view camera, follow these steps:
- Connect the red cable (② in diagram) to the backup light "+" terminal.
- Connect the black cable (① in diagram) to the "GND" (ground) terminal.
- Connect the reversing detection cable (④, brown color) to the red cable (③) extending from the video input cable.
4.4. Canbus Configuration
If your product includes a Canbus, ensure the 8-pin interface of the Canbus cable is connected. Then, select the correct Canbus type in the car radio settings. If you are unsure of the Canbus model, contact customer service.
For models without Canbus (V1/V1.C/V1 Pro/V1 Pro.C), navigate to: Car Settings > General > SWC Type > Learning Type to configure steering wheel controls.
For V1 Plus models without Canbus, navigate to: Settings > Car information > SWC > Learning Type to configure steering wheel controls.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto
The AWESAFE car radio supports both Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration. This allows you to access navigation, phone contacts, notifications, music, and voice assistants like Siri or Google Assistant.
- Wireless Connection: Turn on your phone's Bluetooth and pair it with the car's Bluetooth. After successful pairing, the car radio will automatically display the Zlink or AutoLink interface. Your phone will prompt to use CarPlay/Android Auto. Then, enable Wi-Fi on your mobile phone to complete the connection.
- Wired Connection: Use your original data cable to connect your phone to the 4-PIN USB cable. Activate CarPlay/Android Auto on your phone and select the "AutoLink" or "ZLINK5" icon on the device.
5.2. DSP Sound System
The Digital Sound Processor (DSP) enhances audio quality, making treble smoother, midrange richer, and bass fuller. You can adjust the equalizer and speaker positions for an optimized listening experience.
5.3. Radio (FM & Online Radio)
The car radio supports FM radio and, for 4G versions, online radio with access to stations from over 20 countries.
5.4. Navigation

7.1. Steering Wheel Control Not Working
If your steering wheel controls are not functioning:
- For models without Canbus (V1/V1.C/V1 Pro/V1 Pro.C): Go to Car Settings > General > SWC Type > Learning Type and follow the on-screen instructions to program the controls.
- For V1 Plus models without Canbus: Go to Settings > Car information > SWC > Learning Type and follow the on-screen instructions.
- For models with Canbus: Ensure the 8-pin interface of the Canbus cable is correctly connected. Then, select the appropriate Canbus type in the device settings. If you are unsure of the Canbus model, contact customer service.
7.2. Boot Logo Issue
Due to copyright issues, the boot logo may not be displayed by default. If you wish to customize or enable a boot logo, please contact customer service for instructions on how to modify it.

- For optimal internet connectivity, consider purchasing a 4G version of the device, as using your smartphone as a modem can quickly drain its battery.
- If you plan to use an external microphone, ensure it is connected via an RCA cable, as the product accessories do not include an original microphone adapter.
