5. Music Download
To customize the audio played by your module, follow these steps to download music files:
- Connect the sound module to your computer using the provided USB Type-C data cable. Ensure the power switch on the module is turned ON.
- Your computer should recognize the module as a USB flash drive (removable disk).
- Directly copy or delete MP3 or WAV music files to/from the module's storage. Note: Music format must be MP3 or WAV.
- After copying, unplug the Type-C cable. If the cable remains connected, the module will stay in download mode and will not play music.

6. Operation
6.1 Playback Mode Settings (GC01 - Button Control)
The GC01 module offers three playback modes, selectable via a small switch on the board (refer to Figure 10 for dial positions):
| Dial Position | Playback Mode | Description |
|---|---|---|
(Top) | Loop Play | Press the button once to cycle through the stored music from the beginning, and press the button again to stop playback. |
(Middle) | No Loop | Press the button once to play the stored music from the beginning once and then stop. Press the button again to stop playing during playback. |
(Bottom) | Play Next Play | Press the button once to play the next song, stop after playing the music. Press the button during playback to switch to the next song. |

6.2 Playback Mode Settings (GC02 - Magnet Control)
The GC02 module also offers three playback modes, selectable via a small switch on the board (refer to Figure 11 for dial positions). The behavior depends on whether you have the 'Magnet close to play' or 'Magnet leaves to play' version.
Magnet Close to Play Version:
| Dial Position | Playback Mode | Description |
|---|---|---|
(Top) | Loop Play | The magnet is close to start playing the stored music, and keeps playing all the music in a loop. Playback stops immediately when the magnet leaves during playback. |
(Middle) | Do not loop | The magnet is close to start playing the stored music, and stops after all of it has been played once. Playback stops immediately when the magnet leaves during playback. |
(Bottom) | Play Next Play | The magnet is close to start playing the next song and stops after it finishes playing. If the magnet leaves during playback, it stops playing immediately. |
Magnet Leaves to Play Version:
| Dial Position | Playback Mode | Description |
|---|---|---|
(Top) | Loop Play | The magnet leaves to start playing the stored music, and keeps playing all the music in a loop. Playback stops immediately when the magnet is near during playback. |
(Middle) | Do not loop | The magnet leaves to start playing the stored music, and stops after all of it has been played once. Playback stops immediately when the magnet is near during playback. |
(Bottom) | Play Next Play | The magnet leaves to start playing the next song and stops after it finishes playing. If the magnet is near during playback, it stops playing immediately. |

6.3 Volume Control
The module features a volume control potentiometer. Use the provided screwdriver to turn clockwise to increase the volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it.

7. Battery Information
The module uses a 3.6V rechargeable lithium button battery (LIR2032). This battery is replaceable. The module has on-board charging circuitry, allowing the LIR2032 battery to be recharged via the Type-C port. You can also replace it with other 3.6V-4.2V compatible lithium batteries.

8. Maintenance
- Keep the module dry and away from moisture.
- Avoid exposing the module to extreme temperatures.
- Clean the module gently with a dry, soft cloth if necessary. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure proper battery handling and replacement.
- When using the magnet control version, ensure no metal objects are near the magnet and magnetic switch, as this can interfere with operation.
9. Troubleshooting
- No sound during playback:
- Check if the power switch is ON.
- Ensure the speaker is correctly connected to the 'SPK' port.
- Verify that music files (MP3 or WAV) have been successfully transferred to the module.
- If using the magnet control version, ensure the magnet is correctly positioned relative to the magnetic switch based on your chosen playback mode.
- Check the volume level using the screwdriver.
- Module not recognized by computer:
- Ensure the Type-C cable is securely connected to both the module and the computer.
- Verify the module's power switch is ON when connecting to the computer.
- Try a different USB port or cable.
- Music not playing after disconnecting from computer:
- Ensure the Type-C cable is completely unplugged. The module will remain in download mode if the cable is connected.
- Playback mode not changing:
- Ensure the mode switch is firmly set to the desired position.
10. User Tips
- When transferring music, always ensure the files are in MP3 or WAV format for compatibility.
- For the magnet control version, experiment with the placement of the magnet and magnetic switch to find the optimal trigger distance for your project. Remember that magnetic fields can penetrate non-metallic materials like paper and glass, but avoid placing metal near the switch.
- The included 3M double-sided tape can be used to secure the speaker and module within your DIY project. Refer to Figure 14 for tape application.
