  • Identify clean, flat surfaces on your doors or window frames where the two parts of the sensor can be mounted in close proximity.
  • Ensure the two parts of the sensor are aligned and within 1 cm of each other when the door/window is closed.
  • Use the adhesive backing to securely attach each sensor part to the desired location.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep Sensors Clean: Regularly wipe down sensors with a dry, soft cloth to ensure optimal performance and prevent dust buildup from interfering with their function.
  • Maintain Power Connection: Ensure the Base Station remains connected to its AC adapter at all times. The internal backup battery provides power during outages but is not intended for continuous operation.
  • Check Sensor Batteries: While not explicitly stated, wireless sensors typically operate on batteries. Monitor the Smart Life app for low battery indicators for any paired sensors and replace batteries as needed to ensure continuous protection.
  • App Updates: Keep the Smart Life app updated to the latest version to benefit from new features, bug fixes, and improved security.

7. Troubleshooting

  • System Not Connecting to WiFi:
    • Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz WiFi network. The system does not support 5GHz WiFi.
    • Verify that your WiFi password is entered correctly in the Smart Life app.
    • Move the Base Station closer to your WiFi router to improve signal strength.
    • Restart your router and the Base Station, then try connecting again.
  • Sensors Not Triggering Alarm:
    • Check if the system is in an armed mode (Stay or Away). Sensors will not trigger in Disarm mode.
    • Ensure the two parts of the door/window sensor are properly aligned and within 1 cm of each other when the door/window is closed.
    • Check the battery status of the sensors in the Smart Life app. Replace batteries if they are low.
    • Re-pair the sensor with the Base Station if connectivity issues persist.
  • App Connectivity Issues:
    • Ensure your smartphone has a stable internet connection.
    • Verify that the Smart Life app is updated to the latest version.
    • Close and reopen the app, or restart your smartphone.
    • If the issue persists, try re-linking the Base Station to your Smart Life account.
  • Alarm Siren is Too Quiet/Loud:
    • Adjust the volume settings for the Base Station through the Smart Life app.

8. User Tips

  • Expandability: The AGSHOME DPK4 system is highly expandable. You can add additional sensors (up to 20) and remote controls/keypads (up to 5) to customize your security coverage. This allows you to protect more entry points or integrate other smart home security devices like motion detectors or water leak detectors.
  • Strategic Sensor Placement: For optimal security, place door/window sensors on all primary entry points. Consider placing additional sensors on less obvious windows or doors, especially those on ground floors or easily accessible areas.
  • Regular Testing: Periodically test your sensors and alarm system to ensure they are functioning correctly. This can help identify any connectivity issues or low batteries before an actual security event occurs.
